Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file. "Unique and Authentic Experience"

An incredible experience in this very quaint property, walking in at first and seeing no beds was a bit shocking but the setup of a traditional Ryokan is just that, they setup the beds later in the evening. The staff were incredible and so accomodating. The Onsen (hot spring) in the hotel was the perfect way to end each of our 2 days there

"Exceptional service!"

The Ryokan Shirouma-so was excellent. I was there with my wife and two children (ages 13 and 11). This ryokan owners are FANTASTIC and they truly know the meaning of great service. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was truly comfortable and easy (despite the fact we are American and speak almost no Japanese).

"My Shirouma"

Having been to Hakuba several times, staying in western style accommodation, I thought I'd try a traditional Japanese ryokan. The Shirouma-so came recommended online so I used Expedia to book my stay. I have no regrets. My time there was superb. A quick walk to the slopes & chairlift at Nakiyama ski area. Home-made food prepared & served by 'Mama', mother of the family-owned ryokan. And her son Toshi, the general manager, who took care of all my little requests. The wifi works throughout the building, and any scanning/printing was processed by Toshi who mans the reception(Toshi speaks very good English). What more can I say. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
