Keswick Country House Hotel

Just got back from another fantastic stay at this amazing place, room and service where faultless, they even went to the trouble of putting a birthday card in the room, thank you , a special thank you to Stephanie and her very professional team, everyone was absolutely A1++ , see you all soon ( only been home a few hours and missing it already) 😥

The room was dated, the bathroom was in need of updating. There was mould on the ceiling. The shower was broken. All windows had mould on them. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. Had a price from Booking.com, £144 but thought we would go in to see if they had availability. The manager was going to charge us £200 a night. Some parts of the hotel have been upgraded. The bar was the best place in Hotel with a modern feel. And also the price of the drinks were very reasonable on the plus side. We definitely would not be staying here again.

If you want to stay in Keswick there is no better place than The Keswick Country House Hotel Station Rd, Keswick, Cumbria. Within walking distance of two beautiful parks and a ten minute walk to view the shops and restaurants. If it's raining - which it does a lot - it's the Lake District, a stunning selection of lounges and a lovely bar awaits you. Bedrooms a big - biggest bed I have ever seen - clean and well equipped. High point - the staff, warm and friendly. Great walks in the grounds and of course fantastic walks all around. Restaurant has a great breakfast service and meals are catered for in the bar area or the wonderful main restaurant. NB some rooms require updating but our stay was superb.

Have visited this hotel many times and would normally mark as 5 but had a few niggles on this stay, When being checked out by Diana I was not asked if I had enjoyed the stay. Had a G and T in the bar one day, the young lady who made it put in plenty of ice, and a piece of cucumber and a piece of lime and also squeezed lime into the drink - excellent. The next day a young man made the G and he placed a minuscule amount of ice in the glass which he touched with his hands and put in only a piece of lime, not the same standard as the day before. Also is it really acceptable to describe a room as deluxe with windows this size. Food and other staff excellent as always

Excellent location, walkable to Town, also has nice grounds & great parking. Some bedrooms not as smart as others, but public areas are good. We've stayed a few times over the years, generally the same staff have remained, which is a good sign for the hotel. The staff are all excellent, it would be a travesty if the new owners didn't keep them all on. A bit expensive for the type of bedrooms

The external photos of the hotel are lovely. But I found the hotel interiors dark, dated and not a cosy. Dull colours and poor lighting. Our room was nice bit all we looked at was rubbish bins. Curtain linings all torn, bath badly rust stained and very old, dated towel rail. Hall ways tatty and in dire need of a refresh. Breakfast was great tho. Dining room very nice. Expensive stay for one night

Our room was quite large and well appointed. Very friendly and professional staff. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel and every meal was delicious and satisfying.

All the staff were so helpful and polite .we stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious with a super king bed. Breakfast was sumptuous and plentiful, we dined in for dinner which @ £45 per head for 3 courses was delicious and well worth it

If looking for old school history type hotel then this is it. Like walking back in time. Breakfast was overseen by a lot of staff, something not seen in other newer brands. It is like being on a cruise ship, but the clientele was mostly older so the personal service level exceeded my expectations. Room met need and had nice views as an upper floor. Make sure you register your car plate ahead of stay.
