We have just returned from a 10 day Christmas break.
Reception on arrival was very good, we were warmly welcomed, given our key cads and told where our room was.
Our rooms were basic, but clean.
There is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
No bath, just a shower and shower gel is provided if you don't want to take your own.
The rooms were cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels when needed.
It was quite cold on the second night, but I found a blanket in the wardrobe, which unfortunately looked and smelled like it had been there for years.
The restaurant looks like an old school canteen and where do I start with the food!!!
Bland, overcooked or under cooked and at the most, luke warm - a microwave is provided to reheat the food, which we did for every meal.
One morning, my hash browns were actually frozen in the middle! -
The toaster broke down several times and one morning my bread got stuck inside, so I spoke to the chef at the counter - it nearly caught fire by the time he came and his personal hygiene was so bad, I had to step away!
All of the staff in the restaurant, with the exception of one of the chefs, (who's photo is in another review), were really polite and helpful.
The chef mentioned never smiled and made you feel like it was an effort to cook an omelet, which I only had once, because even that was undercooked!
One day, my husband said to him 'how about a smile' and he slapped a pork chop that he'd just cooked for him so hard on the plate, that he nearly dropped it!
The coffee machine near reception is turned off during the day, so you have to go down to the snack bar if you want a hot drink - when I asked the receptionist why, I was told it was to stop the 'All Inclusive' guests from abusing it!
An effort was made on Christmas day evening - we were greeted at the door to the restaurant and given a glass of prosecco.
The tables had cloths on, along with a bottle of wine.
The snacks are even worse than the main meals.
On our first morning at the pool, I collected rubbish from the floor where we wanted to sit and stacked it neatly on a nearby table, where it sat for five days.
Ashtrays are not provided for smokers, so stubs were either put on the floor or put into paper cups, which got blown over onto the floors.
The floors in hotel/restaurant could do with a good clean; there were clumps of hair blowing around outside our room for days and the guy using the floor washing machine just pushes it up and down the middle of the floors, creating a dirty swirling pattern in the middle.
The entertainment was virtually non existent and the guy at the bar raised his eyes and shook his head when I asked for my cocktail in a wine glass instead of a large tumbler!
The cocktails all tasted the same, so I gave up on them after the first night.
You can only get a hot drink in the restaurant with breakfast, because the machines are switched off at lunchtime and the evening.
On one occasion the coffee machine broke down in the snack bar, so the waitress was asked by another member of staff to make me a coffee from the machine behind the bar, which she argued with him about but eventually did.
Someone behind me asked her for some hot water for a tea bag and she refused, shouting it wasn't her fault the machine was broken.
The area to the pool doesn't open until 10am, so if you are up early an want to sit around the pool, you will have a bit of a wait.
The hotel reminds me of the old 18-30's, but for 50-70's - lots of people hooking up and getting drunk day and night, so it could be quite noisy.
There were also single people of all ages from mid 30's to late 80's on their own, who love the hotel and return frequently, so it depends on what you are looking for and how fussy you you are.
This isn't the worst hotel we have stayed in, but it certainly isn't one of the best and so we wouldn't return.
