Hotel Princesa Solar

We returned yesterday having reserved 5 nights directly with the Princesca Solar at the members rate that included a delicious buffet breakfast, which was fantastic value for money!! The hotel is newly re-furbished with very large beds/memory foam mattresses & pillows & new walk in showers, everywhere is kept clean & immaculate & bedrooms serviced daily. The la Carihuela area is fantastic for the beach, shops & restaurants & these are a 7 minute walk. The bus stop is literally outside to Malaga (110) and to Mijas (121) make sure you buy a bus card from the Tabacas as fares are a fraction of price when used. I loaded 15 euros on mine & both of us went to above places return & still had 10 euros left!! As for the staff, as many have previously mentioned you’d struggle to find more helpful or efficient in any hotel anywhere!! No need to take pool towels they provide free if you keep same ones for your duration (3€ if changed). Finally, must mention even though there’s a road in front of the hotel, once patio door is closed we never heard a thing at night. But if you do stay just be considerate of closing your bedroom door quietly, rather than letting it slam shut, which to be fair the majority seemed to be mindful during our stay. Would I stay again? In a heartbeat, loved the hotel & the area!! Can’t wait to go back!

The best part of this hotel? The staff. Pleasant, courteous and always with a smile, and that is all the staff. Lovely hotel, really well kept and beautiful new pool surroundings, just home today from a week in it and already looking to book next year.

We love it here,second time better than the first with the lovely new pool area, Staff lovely,room gorgeous and best bed I have slept in. The breakfast was nice and didn’t finish to 11am,fab for a lie in, Hopefully returning in July, Thanks for a lovely relaxing break.

Staff were the kindest people. Would definitely be back. Every morning the receptionist was there smiling and chatting. The waitress was so friendly. Rooms were cleaned daily, 5 mins from the beach. The staff went the extra mile to ensure you were happy and comfortable. My only downfall would be that there wasn’t a great deal of soft drinks. But on the grand scale of things that’s not a lot. 15 mins from the airport. More suited for adults and couples. The jacuzzis were a bonus! Not something you see much of on holiday. The staff really made it and I couldn’t praise it anymore. Thanks so much for making our stay so amazing.

This place is brilliant. Friendly staff, great location, very clean, massive beds, balcony, great pool area, tv room, bar and pool tables. The bar food is really nice and the staff working on it are grafters, they do a great job. The pool area and rooms are much nicer now they have been done up. The photos on Trip Advisor must be old. The pool are has wooden flooring now not fake grass and it looks great. The rooms are also much more modern looking than some of the photos. I would 100% be back here. We had a room with a beautiful sea view as well. It was great.

Fantastic staff very attentive and friendly, fab location, great food! By joining the members club, we received a free breakfast and weren't expecting the selection that was on offer. Very close to an amazing selection of restaurants and bars, and not too far to the train station via the panoramic lift.

Stayed for 12 nights at the Princesa Solar, and had a really enjoyable time. ROOMS – we had a standard double; # A large, clean room, with good size comfortable bed, 2 chairs, desk and large wardrobe. We requested an iron before arriving, and it was there is the room with a small ironing board. # Air-con was more than adequate, and came in very useful as temperatures hit the mid 30s. # Bath with shower that was always consistently hot and powerful, nice fluffy towels, and gels, shampoo provided. # Balcony fair size with more than enough room for 2 chairs and table, with view of pool and side view of sea. # Maid service every day. HOTEL GENERALLY - # Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold choices, as well as additional items bought around by the staff including cava, pancakes, and churros. Served up to 11.00am, which is great if you fancy a lie-in, we enjoyed this every day we stayed. # Pool and sunbed area is quite small but never felt even slightly busy during our stay. The hotel has 80 rooms only, and is clearly targeted at adults only, so no scramble for sun-beds etc... # 3 ‘hot’ tubs in pool area – all unheated, which we were very grateful for when the temperatures hit the 30s. # Pools and tubs well maintained (we saw chemicals added every day) and kept clean, as were all other areas. # Snack bar by the pool perfect for snacks and refreshments. # Location is on a main road, but around 5 mins walk to plenty of very good bars and restaurants, and a few minutes longer to the beach. Bus stops right outside the hotel taking you one way to Torremolinos main town, airport, and Malaga, and the other to Benalmadena and further down the coast – recommend you buy a green bus card if you plan to use more than once – search forum for info. STAFF - # A real positive for this hotel as others have noted. Without exception every member of staff we engaged with was friendly, positive, and really seemed to want you to have the best holiday possible. Having stayed in lots of hotels across the world, the staff at the Princesa Solar are up there with the best. Well done and thanks! Areas for improvement; # A second bin in the main bedroom, as well as the bathroom would be useful. # Toilet roll seemed a bit budget.... Snack bar music could have been moderated, especially when there were no guests in the bar. This actually wasn’t a problem for us as it was far from booming, but it was mentioned by a couple of other (older) guests, and could be easily resolved. These are of course minor things, and are offered constructively.... we would rush back to the Princesa Solar, and can't wait for our next visit in 2025.
