Ryotei Hanayura

Staff was attentive from the moment we arrived, welcoming and conversant in English. The hotel location was great - walking distance to the town and Jigokudani site. Parking was plentiful and free. Breakfast and dinner were good and they made the effort to present us something different for our second day stay. We had our own little hotspring bath in our room and that was nice.

Some parts of the room looked worn and the furnishing was a little too spartan. Everything in our Japanese style room was low lying and at our age, we struggled a fair bit getting up and down. The room was also a bit too warm and we were unable to adjust the aircon to match what we preferred.

We liked how large the room was, and the old school feel of how it was furnished and styled. The food was also very good, both dinner and breakfast. The location was ideal. We enjoyed the private onsen.

The futons were not very comfortable, and there were a lot of seasonal insects (some of which cannot be helped). A lot of the fixtures in the room felt a bit dated and in need of repair such as some sliding doors and windows. The HVAC system also needed some adjusting. I think the price is a bit high considering all of that

This place was a paradise

A real traditional Ryokan feel, the room was very spacious clean and had a pretty view. We opted for a room with a private onsen which was wonderful. The futons were comfortable.There was a shuttle option from Sapporo TV tower for about 1000 yen person for a round trip which was excellent and convenient.

방크기는 4명도 넉넉할 크기 일본느낌을 즐기기 좋아요(다다미방) 개인온천 (나무욕조와 낡은수도) 과 경치 운치 있음 물은 너무 뜨거워서 마구 퍼내고 샤워부스 찬물을 섞어줘야 함. 저녁 눈이 예쁨(가이세키) 아침 괜찮음 셀프코너 중 갑오징어와 깐 단새우 많이 드세요 디저트 코너도 아담하지만 괜찮고 식빵이 의외로 맛있음 로비나 인테리어는 예쁨 잠자리도 편안함

아무래도 온천마을 특성상 시설이 깨끗하더라도 낡았으며, 가성비는 안 나오기 때문에 기념일이 아니라면 오기 힘듬. 10월1일인데 더운 느낌이 있음 에어컨이 없으니 참고 바람불면 다다미방이라 문이 덜컹거려 무서울 수 있음

The food and Onsen are the best, I am very happy with that. However, the room is not clean, you can see dirts on the wall or on the ground. The staff were able accommodate a new room for us (much better, still not the best). I assume the room has been cleaned and those are wear and tears. But for a hotel in this price range it shouldn’t be like this. Please consider renovate the room to keep the customer.

They were accommodating to diet restrictions.

It felt a little dated.
