The Sun Inn

The staff here are very hospitable. Angus was fabulous in meeting needs. There’s a pretty wooded area to the sides and a nice area to sit outside. The carpet is filthy in the hallway, stairs and in the room. The Sun Inn is on a main road next to the train tracks. Since there is no air conditioning we will sleep with the window open which we couldn’t do because of the traffic noise. The shower was very nice. There was a floor fan which helped tremendously. Dinner and breakfast were good. The rooms need reuniting. There are areas that smell very bad in the hallway like old rubbish. I would not stay here again.

Excellent restaurant and very helpful staff. Room was spacious, comfortable with kettle, etc and Tunnocks biscuits (which was a bonus). Large bathroom, big towels.

Bathroom was very dimly lit and cramped. Old fixtures. Very very noisy in the morning from road noise outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

La proximité de la route n'est pas très agréable car la chambre n'est pas vraiment insonorisée.

Comfortable bed, great shower pressure, nice pillows, good wifi, great food and very friendly staff. Safe indoor location to leave our bicycles overnight

Couldn’t get the television to work, handle on the bathroom sink broke, couldn’t properly close the bathroom door

Not a lot to be honest-we were in room 1 - the carpet needs a good clean plus in the bathroom the tap spindle is loose

We were disappointed that we arrived for the nights lodging and the restaurant was closed when the advertised hours clearly said it should be open. We arrived just after 18:00. The Sun website said the restaurant was open until 19:00. Google said it was open until 21:00. They directed us to walk a half mile to another pub which was open. Room was quite noisy due to the busy highway in front. Coffee service in the room was messed up. Instead of instant coffee in the container, it was ground coffee with no method of making it. It was not a cheap room, ot should have been executed better.

The staff were fantastic and caring The breakfast was excellent (had the porridge with Heather honey) Bedroom/bathroom was clean + bed was huge and comfy! Outside door to upstairs bedrooms so don't have to go through the pub Half hour away from Edinburgh

Pillows were very soft so I didn't sleep well because of it. Shower screen was an inch above the bath so water flooded the bathroom

Staff were really friendly, the location was ok for travelling into Edinburgh centre.

Rooms weren't very clean. There was dirt and hairs in the bath, and the whole room felt like it needed a deep clean, grimey skirting boards, etc. Having said that I only stayed one night so it didn't really matter but if I was staying longer I would've asked for it to be cleaned.
