The Sun Inn

Really lovely boutique hotel and gastro pub. The food was delicious and there were a lot of nice little touches like ground coffee and cafetière in the rooms. The staff were great.

The mattress was really firm and on the more uncomfortable side.

It badly needs a refurb. It’s grubby and a bit shabby. The hairdryer and iron in the room were 7 months overdue an electrical inspection. The food on offer was good, but don’t be fooled by the website menu. The actual menu was completely different with far fewer choices. The hotel boasts itself as an award winning restaurant, but the most recent award on show was from 2015 - ten years ago.

Not much to like. Room.was disgusting and stunk of sewer. Carpet was gross and extremely discolored, headboard badly worn, and damaged. Sink was cracked, missing floor tiles in bathroom, bathroom.floor sticky. Hallways gross and stink. Very very run down.

We never stayed the night, but no one was there to tell as all the staff left after we checked in. Was assured in the morning that they would authorize a refund through booking.com but now they won't despite the:manager" agreeing that the room.was stinky and gross. I held.off doing a review as all I wan6ed was a refund buy non forthcoming.

Wir haben das Sun Inn wegen seiner Nähe zu Edinburgh gewählt. Inspricht eher einem Gasthof mit sehr einfacher Ausstattung. Leider sehr teuer im Restaurant. Essen und Trinken doch sehr einfach. Doch das Bad ist renoviert.

Zimmer lag direkt an der auch nachts viel befahrenen A 7. Kaum geschlafen. Uralt Fenster nicht ganz schließbar.

Beautiful historic building. We booked the suite with the roof terrace for the night after our home wedding. The hot tub needed to be on a lower temperature I think as we could not sit for longer than 5 minutes. The flooring in the room is pretty worn but tbh we would 100% hire this suite again. The breakfast in the morning was amazing

No special touch for this being a hooking for the night of our home wedding.
