The Lamb Hindon

Lovely place to stay within easy driving distance of Salisbury and Stonehenge. Excellent food, good atmosphere, very comfortable.

Nice country pub in a small village (with two pubs). Quite limited space in the bar area as half the pub is given over to the restaurant. Choice at bar was very good with quality real ales available. Food was excellent and all cooked freshly to order. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good although the air con is a little on the noisy side at times. Not good sound insulation through the door into the corridor. Prices a little expensive compared to "up North" but as expected for the area. Handy for places like Stonehenge and Salisbury. Good range of Sky channels on tv.

The service was fantastic, really helpful and not over the top in anyway. Went the extra mile to make our stay lovely. The rooms are spacious and clean and have excellent facilities, lots of extras and great beds and bathrooms. The pub is cosy and the food is really good.

Fantastic welcome, great rooms (with lovely little touches) and really nice food/atmosphere in the pub itself. We were travelling with two dogs who were spoilt rotten with their own beds and goodie bags, and biscuits waiting on the table for them at dinner. Really recommend a stay here.

the Lamb flatters to deceive, it's a lovely looking place, set in a lovely village. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant & helpful, but it would seem that looking at previous reviews nothing gets done about the problems they have, which is a shame. The room was fine, nicely done & fairly clean (some things, like the lamp, obviously don't get dusted!). The bedding was clean, great pillows, quilt, etc. We stayed in room 3 & the shower still doesn't drain which we did inform them of (looking at the reviews lots of people have). We had dinner which was ok, the menu makes the food sound amazing, but it didn't really live up to the description... We had the full English breakfast which was poor, cold beans, cold shoe leather for bacon & a dried up black circle which I think was the field mushroom (perhaps several hours earlier), shame because it was all good quality ingredients (lovely sausage which was very hot), the waitress was very apologetic and did change the beans (which 2nd time around were lukewarm) and the bacon but that meant my breakfast was all a bit piecemeal and not very enjoyable. Poached egg was good. There were 2 chaps in the kitchen in chef's outfits- if they're chefs then they should be ashamed sending out a breakfast like that for the waitress to serve. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again, which is a shame as it's not far off being really good, but it seems they're not addressing their problems

We had a nice overnight stay at the Lamb. The room and bed were comfortable, as was the shower room. The staff were very pleasant but there were insufficient of them. Consequently service at dinner was slow and we gave up waiting to order the desert. My steak pie was lovely, my partner's calves liver came in a large lump and should have been thinly sliced - both generous portions. Good breakfast the following morning, but slow service again. And what is an english breakfast without a sausage.

very nice large room clean and comfortable tastefully decorated with air conditioning. breakfast was good with lots of choice. staff were pleasant and helpful. quiet rural location with car parking. would stay again thanks.
