Good Value Apartments by MX Zermatt

Great location and clean. Would have loved a balcony.

Great location. Easy walk to train station and cable car to summit. Cosy apartment with a nice balcony. Facilities were good.

Washing machine in basement. Shared by all apartments in the complex. Wifi not good. Plug in WiFi is slow and can drop out.

Excellent location to explore the town.

Having an apartment, we could prepare our own meals was ideal, and being quite close to the main town attractions. The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was so special

The view of the Matterhorn was breathtaking. Nice size apartment with everything we needed on one level. Elevator if needed with heavy luggage. Sounds of the dawn chorus and the melt water streams. The peace and tranquillity. The MX team were so kind, bringing us a bag of essentials late in the evening after the power went off in Zermatt. We didn’t as for this, they just did it 😀

None of these things would put us off staying again as the good things massively out weigh the bad so don’t be put off, these are just our observations. The patio door needs some maintenance and was a bit difficult to open and close, it felt like the handle was going to fall off. The shower head and doors could do with being replaced. The oven looked nice but we didn’t use it as there weren’t any trays.

The property is very close to village center and pretty convenient. The team was very nice and responsive, always replied quickly to our messages. E.g. when the hairdryer broke, a new one was dropped off to us within minutes.

The property is behind the beautiful church in town, and the bell rings every 30 mins from early in the morning and till about 10pm (from memory), which wasn't a huge problem since we were there for the snow so we are generally up early, but if you are looking to sleep in, it might be an issue. Being behind the church also meant we are looking out to the cemetery attached to the church. This doesn't bother us but it might for some people and should probably be included in the property description. Lastly, we were told by the new staff who showed us to our property the back door is not locked and not accessible by us, so we walked the long way to and from the shuttle bus stop every single day whilst we were there. Only found out the shortcut on the very last night by chance.

Perfect position, close to slopes, shops and restaurants. A grate base for the wonderful skiing that is available in Zermatt.
