Tune Hotel - Waterfront Kuching

On our last day the alarm went off in the entire building at 6am for 15 minutes straight... it was over for a couple minutes before it started again, and again until about 7am. The hotel is good for what you paid for, but this incident really disrupted my rest.

We booked room with window but given room without window.

*Very* small room. In fact too small for a desk, just a flip-down 2ft wall board as a writing pad. One foot gap between bed to walls. No cupboard for clothing - another flip out bar with some cloth hangers. On the plus side, aircon is strong and shower is hot. Enough if you want to just sleep at night but catastrophic confining for any work to be done inside. Paid RM20 cash to checkin early but where is the receipt?? Is this a tip? Not a single minute late checkout possible. Better pay RM30 more and get a normal hotel room nearby. Or pay RM20 less and get a shophouse-type hotel nearby.

No security. With guests fightinc, no security present for 2 hrs. Lift broke down, no alternative lift as only 1 lift in the whole hotel. only alternative was stairs. For 2 days. Toilet bowl water dripping.

Good for budget travellers

At the moment in the hotel. If you do not complain at the desk that your room isnt cleaned nobody comes to clean and you get no new towels. Also am I asking for a parking card now for a week and the answer is every time that guests took the parking cards. So forget parking under the hotel! No next time next year for me

Tune Hotel is in the downtown, close to waterfront. A good budget accomodation but less of parking space.

Cleanliness is good. Staff, service and amnities is damn bad. No phone in the room to call front desk. Had to use my own then it took ages for the front desk to answer the call. Busy and enggage all the way. Coffee/tea maker and hair dryer is not available. The staff even ask me to go down get the hot water from water dispenser. I’ve been to other 3 star hotel be it in msia or oversea, tune hotel is the worst service ever. It does not fit the 3 star with very lousy service.

I used to stay at Tune Waterfront and it had comfy beds, clean towels and a private bathroom for a fairly reasonable price. The counter people were always friendly too. However, my recent stay was quite disappointing. I requested for a quiet room but was instead given a room right beside the main entrance where people walked in and out and was near the main road. When I asked if it was possible to change to a more quiet room, the lady told me that a room beside the main entrance was quieter than a room on a higher floor away from the traffic. Okay, that logic was very weird but I was tired and just thought of putting up with it. When I entered the room, it was rundown and not like the normal rooms that I used to stay in. The sink was dirty and had splotches of toothpaste(?) still in it. No bathroom rug was given either. And the worse was the window that couldn't be closed. As my room was right on the ground floor, anyone could've climbed in at any moment. I went to inform the counter lady again and she sent someone over to help "close" the window but the serviceman also admitted that the lock was spoiled. So even though the window was finally closed and "locked", anyone from the outside could just open it again. By this time I was just really really tired with everything and I didn't bother to make any complains because I could see that no matter what I said, the lady wasn't going to change me to another room.

The place very minimize and nice. near with waterfront KCH. I love it!
