Auberge Du Cheval Blanc

Great value, nice room, very clean. Comfortable beds. Power shower. Small but very welcome swimming pool. Friendly staff. Excellent restaurant with outside seating. Choice of menus to suit all pockets, with mainly French classics, all cooked well, and an amazing cheese table (yes, table, not board!). Would go again.

Best need a SatNav or good directions to find hotel, we used Google maps which wasn't really good or clear enough. But when found the welcome was good and the room very good with full amenities. It wasn't until after booked that we realised the restaurant is closed on Mondays, our night of stay, so we had to go 7km to the nearest town for a meal. Situated in a very quiet and pretty village. Would readily go back there.

Friendly, clean, beautiful auberge in great location. Only wished we didn't choose Monday night - forgot about the French Monday night closure habit - restarant is apparently great. Next time!

Overnight on way to South of France. Very welcome stay over

This was the ideal stop off point on the way to the Dordogne, not far from the motorway but a nice quiet village. We dined in the evening food quality was excellent. Nice breakfast in the morning a lovely way to start our French holiday, will be back next year

A highlight of our holiday, in fact. An overnight stay for us between Biarritz and le Havre turned out to be perfect. Clean, comfortable room with superb shower and washing facilities in small village with superb food available from restaurant in Hotel. Host and hostess could not be more welcoming or accommodating. A little way of the beaten track but worth it. Some basic French needed for maximum enjoyment but not a barrier. We left fully refreshed and looking forward to our next chance to visit.

Found hotel very easily in centre of village,next to church. Very peaceful, comfortable room, welcoming and forgiving Manager after I messed up arrival time getting there several hours too early. Our misfortune was to be there on a Monday, when the restaurant is closed. This is stated quite clearly on the paperwork, and we found a good evening meal in a nearby town. We would be happy to stay there again.

We were unlucky in follwing satnav to identically named village. Sadly having unknowingly passed the correct place we had to retrace for an hour wasting 2 hours travelling time and cost. Beware our satnav seemed to have same post code in error. Check and check again.This one is Eastish not Westish of Le Mans Having arrived it was pefect and we shall go again. Food in particular is quite excellent, regional specialities and wine, lovely people and hotel is in very local, typical rural French village . Just perfect. Off street parking, good wifi, comfortable and clean .Wish I had checked grid references or points of interest for name of hotel ! A definite must go small hotel

Decided to stay here overnight before travelling on to Bordeaux on the following day, not disappointed, set in a quiet village location. Although booked initially as a stopover could easily book for a longer period taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings and countryside. Rooms are very pleasant and quite spacious even though the Photos don't give them justice. Would advise to book a table at the restaurant as there is not much else in the vicinity, food excellent so you won't be disappointed.

Visited for a 1 night stop over what a find, small hotel very clean ,tea,coffee,water fridge in room, a warm welcome, speak a little English what more could you ask for
