BJØRVIKA APARTMENTS, Teaterplassen, Oslo city center

Unit was in good condition, office to collect fob was 200m from unit. 8th floor, quiet and clean. No info provided on how to regulate room temperatures. TV remote did not work. Shower quite small, but good hot water. Handy to the Oslo train station and the Opera House.

Apartment was centrally located and of a good standard. Things I didn’t like. Dishwasher but no tablets. TV but could only get Netflix if you had a subscription. Coffee machine but no filter coffee. Basic kitchen equipment but no nice extras like tea and coffee etc.

it was a lovely apartment for the money in Oslo .When i went out people were shouting about Gaza and i was the only white person in the crowd i did not like that part of Oslo . But everywhere else was lovely

The stay at Bjorvika was amazing. The instructions from the moment we booked were very clear with helpful messages along the way all up to check in day. When we got there the staff showed us where the apartment was and give us a little handy crib sheet with instructions forbwhen we were in the apartment. When we got there the apartment was very spacious and my 2 year old son loved it. With dishwasher and washing machine tablets already available it made the week much easier to manage as well. As you would expect with a 2 year old. The best part was how central it is to Oslo itself. A 10 minute walk to the opera house and an extra 5 minutes into the main streets of Oslo. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants a nice family stay.

Excellent home base for exploring the city ... walkable to everything, and grocery store near by. There was a problem with the electronic access, but it was eventually fixed by the staff.

Great location and a comfortable apartment. However, the service of the flat was incomplete as no towels were provided until requested and the dishwasher had items in it. Otherwise everything was pristine clean. No TV though as we could not get channels.

The apartment itself was nice, and the people were friendly, but the booking process was frustrating and misleading. Hotels.com states you pay at the venue, but that’s not actually the case. Since the property isn’t manned 24/7, they send a separate payment link outside of Hotels.com. If you don’t see it in time, they will cancel your booking—even though you thought you had a confirmed reservation. When my booking was canceled, I had to rebook at a higher price, and they didn’t refund the difference, which was extremely frustrating. Check-in and the apartments are in different locations, which isn’t clearly explained. Overall, while the stay itself was fine, this venue should not use Hotels.com if they operate this way. The platform is not suited for their process, and it creates a misleading experience for guests.

Finding the office to check in was simple, contrary to other reviews - I had no trouble. There are three flights of stairs that are unfriendly to wheeled luggage. No problem leaving my luggage at 9am after disembarking my cruise, but I was told although the apartment was not ready (understandable at that time) they would contact me when it was, so I could move in early. By 3.30pm i received no notification, so just returned to the office and sure enough, it was ready. Poor communication when i was told one thing, confirmed with them and reassured it would happen and then it didn't. The girl checking me in was training, stumbled a bit, but had no idea whatsoever about the actual location and area in general. After walking in the rain further than necessary following their map, once inside the locked compound the map was very poor and i ended up at three buildings before i finally located the correct one where my apartment was located. To add insult to injury, there is a gate right next to the correct building! Within three minutes from the office! I have no idea why they direct guests to walk twice as far as necessary. This was poor, and something that you don't experience stating at a hotel. During my stay, simply opening the curtains in the morning, the whole curtain rod fell from ceiling - the hollow wall anchors letting go. I called the office, and within a few hours, maintenance arrived and fixed it, as well as a few other maintenance issues.
