Great value for money paid

Facilities weren't great, felt like an inconvenience

We arrived early but were made to feel most welcome. Patron allowed us early entry to our room. The location was really good as we were going to a function in Sunderland. Plenty off street parking at rear of property. There is a lovely Italian Resturant at this Hotel. The Aroma of the food smelt delicious un fortunately it was booked solid and we never got a chance to Sample it. The upside to this is it gives us a reason to return to the La Spada Hotel in the future.

On arriving back at the residence around midnight,the hallway along to room 5 was dark. There was a lamp on further down the hall but no overhead lighting,thus making it difficult to see keypad to input code to open room door. Just a small observation the TV could do with a longer cable to enable it to be plugged in, as without it the TV has no signal.

From the moment we arrived till the morning we left we were made very welcome by all the people involved in running the OYO . They went above and beyond to help us out from Georgia booking taxis for us to my friend behind the bar going to his house to get me cigarettes when I had run out big thanks (hope you enjoy Edinburgh 👍👍👍) cleanliness spot on ,food amazing,and very reasonable for top quality,. would recommend to anyone looking forward to seeing you all again thanks

It felt like the focus was more on the restaurant than the accommodation. The staff seemed to have been unaware who was arriving so had to check. Said our rooms were not ready, even though we arrived after 5pm, but given alternatives. No mention of check out times or if breakfast was available, Expedia says they do breakfast at an extra cost? We had booked 2 rooms and first impression was nice décor. However one room had no toilet paper or sugar on the tea tray. I stayed in a family room, I had to move kettle to windowsill and put the extension lead on the single bed to use it as there was no socket nearby. One of the lamps did not switch on as it was not plugged in, had to take the lead over the single bed to do so after I tightening up the stand as it had come loose looked drunk. The bed had a wooden frame, the bottom end joints were loose and needed gluing. There were several empty and part used complimentary toiletries left in the shower from previous guests. My room was at the front of the property so overlooked the road, I personally had no problem with road noise as I am hearing impaired. Okay there were some minor issues which had to be mentioned but the room and bed were clean and comfortable. I think we would stay here again because the issues did not bother us that much but needed to be mentioned so they can be put right. Although it may not necessarily be our first choice.

Booked this establishment to attend a function that was actually further away than we realised, paid in advance, asked to change the date or for a partial refund, had very little response from the staff and ultimately they took the money and ran. As a business owner communication is everything and I saw little or none of this from these people - I would not recommend this place at all

Nothing - I was treated badly from the moment I arrived

they told me my room was cancelled and told me to call a central number - no apology no empathy no thoughts on were else I could stay and I have been refunded £3 despite paying in full for the night and having to find other accommodation last minute at twice the cost

Spacious bedroom, good location, tea making facilities

Communication before the visit was poor, we messaged asking about parking and early booking, but we only received one reply and it was uninformative. The member of staff was really helpful however when we did book in he was also running the restaurant, there was a problem with the TV, he managed to fix it for us, but he was so busy. The room was clean but looked tired.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Any issues dealt with immediately. Very good Italian restaurant on site. Located on bus route to city centre.
