Rockvale House

Ein wunderschönes B & B in toller Lage mit herausragenden Gastgebern. Phil und Ness sorgen sich um Ihre Gäste und versuchen ihnen den Aufenthalt so schön und komfortabel wie möglich zu machen. Das erlebt man selten. Frühstück und Bar perfekt in einem wunderschönen Ambiente. Wenn es warm genug ist, kann man draußen sitzen, ansonsten sind die Gastträume sehr edel ausgestattet. Wir hatten einen Zimmer mit toller Aussicht über das Tal und man konnte sogar ein kleines Stück vom Meer sehen.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass das Haus mehr als 120 Jahre alt ist, die Treppen entsprechend steil und die Badezimmer entsprechend klein sind. Das tut aber im Gesamteindruck des Hauses keinen Abbruch.

We highly recommend this place! We really enjoyed our stay. Phil and Ness are very kind and helpful hosts, they pay great attention to detail and go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. The breakfast is varied and delicious, and the view is spectacular.

Phil en Nes zijn zeer gastvrij. Ze zorgen voor een hele fijne sfeer. Het ontbijt was geweldig verzorgd. De kamers zijn comfortabel en Rockvale House ligt mooi in Lynton ( iets hoger) . Je kan hier prachtige wandelingen maken.

A classic B and B at the top of the action in lovely Lynton. Onsite hosts greet, orient, and serve a full breakfast. They have some nice touches such as a parlor area and even a house bar if you'd like a drink. They have a car park area (up a steep though short little drive) and they are courteous to allow you for example to check out after breakfast and leave the car there for a few more hours so you can explore the Exmoor area. There is a good circular walk right from the property, so you would want to do this if you came to see Exmoor. Everything is clean and comfy - hosts are very gracious and greet you by name. This is a classic experience, and highly recommended.

nothing to fault here. Note it's a few stairs up to the top floor rooms so keep that in mind.

Petit déjeuner excellent et copieux, les hôtes sont adorables on est bien accueillis la maison est confortable et l'emplacement top avec petit parking.

On est tombé sur LA semaine de canicule dans la région, il faisait donc très très chaud et comme partout il ne sont pas vraiment équipés pour lutter contre ça (isolation, pas de clim) il faisait donc extrêmement chaud dans la chambre. Mais les propriétaires n'y pouvaient pas grand chose

Stand up shower in the en-suite but not slit can be done about that and there is another option

Auf unserer Reise durch Südengland war der Aufenthalt im Rockvale House der Beste (und es waren wirklich tolle dabei), nur leider viel zu kurz. Dies liegt nicht zuletzt an den Inhabern Ness und Phil. Sie sind so herzlich und umsorgen ihre Gäste, als ob man ein Familienmitglied ist. Das Frühstück wird individuell nach persönlichen Wünschen der Gäste serviert. Qualitativ top (Brot und Marmeldade sind selbstgemacht) und mit Liebe zubereitet und seviert. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und in der absoluten Ruhe schläft es sich herrlich. In den Ort sind es nur wenige Schritte. Könnte man 12 Punkte vergeben, würde ich es tun

Lovely place, nessa & phil were great hosts very friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble for them. Breakfast was really nice and tasty , loved the homemade bread and jam. Would definitely recommend
