Rockvale House

Location perfect Breakfast delicious

The hosts were really lovely and very helpful. The sitting room and bar were beautifully decorated rooms to sit and relax in. The bar having a lovely view and a big sofa to curl up in. The dining room was also light and airy. The food was perfect; beautifully and freshly cooked (unless plant-based then it was limited)

The room was a disappointing due to being in the eaves with the beams restricting ease of movement around the room. The floor measurement online seemed adequate and the beams were included in the pictures online. However it wasn't clear just how restricted it would be. The bedroom was on the cool side but we were given a small heater which we used. The ensuite was also limited although as described, however was incredibly cold despite the heater being on in the bedroom. To get to the additional bathroom where we could stand up to shower was a great but the short walk to an 'ensuite' across the shared landing not ideal. Especially taking the cost of our stay into consideration. With regard to food - plant based options were limited although provided.

Phil and ness give us the warmest welcome and went above and beyond everything was amazing room was beautiful view was wonderful looking out over the village. Ness makes everything home made jams bread ect ect really amazing breakfast every morning . Phil is so helpful told and knowledgeable about the area told us the best walks and how to get there. Really was a pleasure to stay here loved it so much .

Lovely breakfast plenty of choice and friendly service made us feel welcome and relaxed. The local area was interesting with lots to see.

Beautiful location, lovely hosts. Ness and Phil were excellent hosts. The breakfast was very good and they gave me fantastic suggestions for things to do and see in the area.

Beautiful location. Set back from the main road but only a short walk from the shops and restaurants. Near to the fascinating mountain railway. Our hosts Phil and Ness were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast each morning was superb and they were so kind and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate at some amazing restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed some simple coastal walks with breathtaking scenery.

We really could not fault Rockvale House but be prepared for the steep hill walk from the town of Lynton to the coastal area or Lynmouth.

We had a wonderful stay at Rockvale House! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel so welcome and at home. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, and it really added a personal touch to our trip. The house itself was comfortable, spotless, and full of charm. Amazing breakfast. Everything we needed was provided, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely comeback.

Management was fantastic, no question or ask was too much. Very attentive and friendly.
