The Lorna Doone Hotel

This is in Porlock not Porlock Weir. Remember that if you are walking. It was a lovely small double room. Re value for money, I wish the price reflected that it was single occupancy. Clean, friendly welcoming staff. A good view. Tasty simple breakfast.

The staff were so friendly and helpful the bedroom was clean and comfortable the bed was amazing made us realise we need a new bed as it was so big and comfortable breakfast was amazing

Das Haus ist sehr ansprechend und die Gastgeber sehr freundlich.

Das Zimmer in dem wir untergebracht waren, war leider nicht so schön eingerichtet. Es war das Zimmer das man mit Hund buchen kann. Vor zwei Jahren war ich schon mal in diesem Haus in einem anderen Zimmer, das war wunderschön.

Spotlessly clean, really comfy large bed. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room. Plenty of hot water with good pressure. The dinner and breakfast were both lovely. We received a warm welcome from all staff.

The staff were lovely and my vegetarian English breakfast good, though not exceptional. The location is reasonably good for walking the Coast Path if you are unable to obtain lodging on the coast.

The mattress is the typical saggy English provincial type that absolutely needs upgrading, particularly at this price point. I thought that not being able to enter the hotel before check in (the door was locked) unacceptable. Fortunately, it was not raining, but I chose this lodging specifically because it's called a HOTEL, not a simple B&B. Having access to the lounge area while waiting for the room (only if it is NOT ready early) is expected.

Brilliant staff - very welcoming, thoughtful & helpful. Comfortable bed & clean facilities. Nice touches such as fresh cold milk, choccy bars on tea tray, offer of packed lunch for walking trip.

Breakfast was amazing - the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had & partner loved his full English 🙌🏻 Staff were very friendly and helpful 😁

The property is showing signs or wear upstairs in the bedroom etc, could do with a little investment to make it worthy of the price
