Regency Hotel

I arrived at the hotel and there were building works going on, it didn't have a reception area, only what I assumed was the hotel manager who took me to my room. This hotel doesn't have mobility access and you have to be quite fit to walk up the 50+ stairs to get to your room! The stairs and my room were on a slant so it didn't feel like I was level in the slightest! There weren't any staff as you would normally expect to ask any questions or the general customer services/check that you're okay etc. The bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was dirty and hadn't looked like it had ever seen bleach. The room smelt smokey and there were no safety measurements in place with the windows. You could probably climb out of it if you really wanted to. The TV was very small and the light fittings were loose. It needed some really TLC. The residents of the hotel were rather noisy, I'm surprised the manager didn't come out of their room and tell them to quiet down! . The curtains were torn and I didn't particularly want to touch them as it looked like they have never been washed. You get teas/coffees, hairdryer (2 of) and the basic shower gel provided. This was the first and definitely the last time I will stay in that hotel.

Lovely staff, helpful and understanding! Antique style room, as expected, with location. Easy check out. Central to all needed attractions, left to our own devices. Recommended parking behind, 'private garage' behind! (Much cheaper) Comfy bed, dodgy TV remote haha, but overall fantastic stay, would highly recommend.

Our room was stunning and the location is great but the bathroom could use a little refresh with a lick of paint - although it looks like there may be some updates being made elsewhere in the hotel. Overall, a lovely stay.

Hotel was awful, everything was on a slant, building in very poor state. Bathroom awful, cracked toilet seat. Bed wonky - very cold in the room. It was nothing like the pictures. I deserve my money back, please no one stay here it is awful.
