Kaiholo Hale

We enjoyed our stay overall but there were a few issues. The worst was that our privacy was compromised. The owner came by unannounced to do some minor repair that we hadn’t been informed of. It was not the best moment for this (Hawaii is a romantic destination folks). Even after it was obvious that it wasn’t a good time he actually came inside and worked on the door. It was extremely rude and intrusive. The place is nicely located but the ac in the living room sounds like it’s a jet about to take off, we mostly left it off even though we were warm because it was SO noisy. We were supplied exactly one dishwasher soap pod, for an entire weeks stay. It would have been nice to have a few extra coffee filters as well, some people enjoy an extra pot once in a while. I would have said the communication was fine except that we were not given a heads up that someone was coming to do a repair.

Convenient location. Clean property. Great communication with and quick response from property manager. Has comfortable beds and well-supplied bathrooms. The only thing that was not perfect was the very slow DSL Internet speed which was quickly fixed by the manager with a mobile 4G wireless router.

Very well-appointed suite that was quiet. Within walking distance of the beach and Mama's Fish House.

Great place! Amazing location! Near by beach is small but amazing!!!! Great snorkelling. Apartment was very well stocked with things you may need.

Our stay in Kaiholo Hale was pleasant and wonderful. Communication with Manager Margit was easy with prompt response. The suite was clean, roomy, and very comfortable. The location was the best to explore Maui in any directions – two-minute walk to Mama’s Fish House and Mama’s Beach; five-minute drive to Ho’okipa Lookout to see sunset and more than 80 sea turtles; 15-minute drive to Costco and Airport; less than an hour to West and South Maui, and two-hour drive to Hana or the Summit in Haleakala National Parks.

Felt like home, not like a hotel

I am always good about reading reviews before booking a space, but not always so good about giving a space a proper review. Our comfy stay in the Plumeria Ste exceeded all our expectations. As empty nesters in our 50’s, my husband and I set out to explore Maui and stayed for 9 nights. It’s located steps away from Mamas Fish House (which is a fabulous culinary experience) on the North Shore. Just over 2 mls away is the downtown area of Paia which has shops/dining. Walmart is just over 6 miles away if you want to stock up and save a bit. About the space; SUPER CLEAN and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom amenities, soaps, shampoo/conditioner trash bags, cooking oil, seasonings, handiwrap etc. we just cooked breakfast and made sandwiches for lunch to take with us. This saved us some money but was mostly a convenience of time. Didn’t have to look for food. Plenty of beautiful spaces with tables along the coast to stop for lunch and enjoy the breeze. My husband and I literally ate our lunch yesterday in Ka’Anapali. He was feeding birds out of his hand. We stayed for about an hour after eating to watch for whales with our binoculars. Saw 7-8 spouts and about 3-4 whales, amazing!! This building is in a quiet residential area. Feels super safe with coded entries and proper motion sensed lighting for late returns. Washer and dryer on-site was also a big plus for our extended stay. Communication was breezy; gracious hosts.

Our original booking was cancelled because the A/C unit was not functioning. The owner had contacted us beforehand, so we went with this booking with the expectation that there is A/C. Even though the units were working, there was no cold air. When I called the office, she told me that this is as cool as it gets and to open the windows at night. This was very disappointing. I ended up going up with heat rash all over my body. I paid for this booking with the expectation to at least have a cooler place to stay, and this was not the case at all.

This place was amazing! It was very clean and had everything you could possibly need from a rice cooker to sunscreen and beach towels. They added little touches here and there to make it feel like a home not just a place to stay at. They even have a welcome book to tell you about the place and the surrounding areas. My husband fell in love with sound of the birds and the shower! Mama’s fish house and Mama’s beach are 3 mins away, I suggest you go to snorkel Bobs and get some gear so you can see all the fish and turtles at mamas beach. If you want to eat at mama’s fish house make it way in advance! Paia is a great town but explore early so you can find parking or take an Uber in the evening. When we come back to Maui we will be staying here again hands down!
