Boulan South Beach

Genuinely the worst, most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed at. We first started at south beach hotel which is apart of “sister properties” the website is a lie, all of the things advertised are spread across different hotels. I will leave the south beach hotel review on their page.. but basically the room was so disgusting and unacceptable that we got moved to a room at Boulan. Boulan is certainly a step up from south beach, but there is rarely anyone at the desk, difficult communication as when you do find an employee they have thick accents and they don’t answer questions clearly or explain things. Communication seemed to clear right up when a male customer was flirting with Adriana at the desk, she couldn’t respond to us in more than a few words but was a great communicator for a cute guy. The room itself looked like it was a quick flip with cheap, poorly made upgrades that are already breaking. Doorknobs are falling apart, things attached to the wall are hanging on by a thread and the room was filthy (mold in the shower, thick dust on the light fixture, just overall unclean). The shower got cold after 3 minutes, the continental breakfast made you jump through hoops to get it with no explanation. The rooftop pool is poorly maintained, the rooftop “bar” is a stand alone backyard bar that no one was ever at to serve you. All of the outdoor furniture is worn, faded and sagging. They charged me a deposit twice. They charge an amenity fee for quite frankly, despicable, garbage things. Our entire hallway stank of trash, basic amenities were missing (like an ice machine) and the dead bolt on our door didn’t even work. I’m not sure how this is advertised as a 4 star hotel, my husband and I have stayed in nicer and cleaner motel 6 locations. Please whatever you do, do NOT book here. When we first looked to book the reviews were great so I’m not sure what has happened, but things are clearly dire and going in the wrong direction. We wasted our babymoon on this place and hope no one else ever makes the same mistake!

The room felt bright and relaxed, with plenty of natural light and a calm atmosphere that made it easy to slow down after traveling.

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel, mainly due to poor communication and unresolved billing issues. At check-in, I was told that the room type I booked was sold out and that I was being given an upgrade. When I returned later to pick up my keys, I realized I had actually been given a downgrade, not an upgrade. I went back downstairs immediately to address this and was told there was nothing they could do and that I would need to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, I was told the manager would not be available until the next day—the day I was checking out. The room I originally booked specifically included a balcony, ocean view, and a kitchen. The room I was given had none of these features. I had already purchased food to cook, expecting to have a kitchen, and that food ultimately went to waste. On the morning of checkout, I again asked to speak with the manager and was told she was not available. I was given an email address and have since emailed (EMMAR@BOULANMIAMI.COM) three times and attempted multiple phone calls, all without any response. I am repeatedly told the manager is “not available.” All that was needed to resolve this was a refund of the price difference between the room I booked and the standard room I was given. Instead, my concerns have been ignored. At this point, I paid a premium price for a room I never received. Very poor customer service and follow-up. Beware when booking here—make sure you actually receive the room you paid for.

Great square footage, beautiful rooms. Very close to beach. Pierre was a great host best in the industry. Also great jacuzzi and pool area

I feel they need a little more staff

We liked how quiet the room stayed at night despite being close to everything. The short walk to the beach made mornings feel effortless.
