This is a beautiful property with great views of Florence.

I just love this place. The staff is amazing. I checked in on the afternoon of June 18th and I forgot the two ladies names that checked us in, but they were just lovely. So helpful. It is so peaceful there.

We enjoyed an arrival cappuccino and cake on the terrace while our rooms were finished—nearly four hours early. The concierge obtained dinner reservations at Terrazzo in Fiesole. We were delivered there in the free hotel shuttle and retrieved after an exquisite dinner under the stars. Pensione Benciste occupies a 15th century villa and boasts vintage furnishings, spacious airy rooms, and many leisure time rooms for reading, chess, music, or conversation. The grounds are planted with roses, lemons, apples, figs, herbs, and shaded by wisteria and jasmine, and surrounded by olive groves and Tuscan evergreens. From the terrace/bar, Florence, the Duomo, the Campanile and Baptistry, Santa Croce is visible. We were so enchanted by our rooms and the view, we relaxed, read, strolled, napped, and enjoyed this gem until dinner. The hotel staff was most gracious and accommodating.

Property is owned and run by the same family since 1925. They are all genuinely happy you are there and want to make your stay the very best. Everyone loves this place!

The most relaxing place to stay - timeless charm of a bygone era with the most beautiful views down across Florence..... a slice of heaven where you can forget about the rest of the world! Should be prescribed on the NHS as a way to achieve perfect rest & perspective on life! No tv in room - bliss. Good WiFi but even better - you don’t feel the need every 5 mins to check email or social media! Why would you when you can soak in such wonderful history, atmosphere & family care! This was my third visit & I confess I felt no need to join the boards of tourists in Florence itself as the vista over the rooftops provides enough as does the charming town of Fiesole above. The very helpful evening free shuttle to & from nearby restaurants a big plus too! So much better than a faceless chain hotel where one could just as easily be on any corporate city visit... this truly is a special opportunity to leave modern day stresses behind & live your own ‘Room with a View’ time of elegance, nostalgia & romanticism.

Beautiful location and views, excellent stuff, and yummy food!

We spent five happy days staying at Pensione Bencistà. We found the hotel to be a warm and welcoming place to stay. The staff were marvellous and the hotel itself a beautiful and restful haven above the city of Florence. The room was comfortable and homely and the public areas in Bencistà are lovely and beg to be used, which we gladly did. While the bus stops to Florence and Fiesole are a steep hike up the drive it is only a 5 minute hike and accomplished in a leisurely stroll while admiring the great views. The views from Bencistà are wonderful. Florence and the Duomo are clearly visible across the olive groves from your breakfast table. The breakfasts we had were fantastic - great variety and freshness and the kitchen staff were knowlegeable and cheerful. We highly recommend Bencistà. We'll be back.

We stayed here while attending a wedding in Fiesole. Setting is absolutely fantastic with views overlooking Florence. Easy bus transportation is only a short walk down the road and takes you to Piazza San Marco. Rooms are tight but comfortable and the staff was helpful. Free evening taxi is available to restaurants in Fiesole.
