Hotel Red Palm

The overall stay was average. The room as well as the bathroom seemed congested. The first night room stinked of mothballs. Fan/A.C. had no controls.

The hotel is basic in all respect, compared to westerns. For Indian standards it was ok. The room was simple small cupboard with shelves and a top. Small table under TV, so nowhere to put large suitcase. You had to wait 20-30 minutes before someone would come and serve breakfast. As I said basic and small.

This hotel is value for money. Not great for people traveling with family as bed and everything else inside the room is pretty worn out. It was great for me as I wanted a nights stay hotel around BKC. Food was a pleasant surprise :) I found that hotel to be safe as well. You can stay if you're tight on budget and backpacking. Getting a hotel in Mumbai at this rate is a miracle.

originally booked for two adults but train delay meant only I was staying on my own (60+) so was probably not the ideal location especially as ended up arriving at 1am. the journey from the airport was down some dark back streets and my taxi driver(pre paid) was not very pleasant. luckily have been in India a while so was okay but anyone arriving on their own new to india might have felt threatened. none of this was the hotel's fault but just an alert for solo travellers pay a little more so can be in better location. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, access to internet free but only in reception area. room was clean but smelt unpleasant needed 4 incense sticks to mask smell. no loo roll. no hot water. very noisy guests / people up to 3am.

Was near the Khar train station. The aircon was fine, and we jad uninterrupted sleep on a hard bed. Nice place for its price.

I have cancelled my vacation due to this Hotel booking such worst Hotel I never seen in my travel span. I prefer Expediea should remove such type Hotel at Bombay and to have only 4 star and 5 star Hotel even the cost is little high. Totally I was disappointed and returned back to Bangalore the same day by paying extra money to Air India. Very bad experience for an NRI person booked the short Vacation package.

Having been to various hotels in India, I can say that price value ratio is ok. The only real positive thing about the hotel though is the location. Next to Khar Station, you can easily take a train into the city center or a rik to Bandra, etc. The staff was helpful, but the room was not clean, at least not for western standards. Bring your own sleeping bag and own towls with you! Take a room to the back, the front is busy on night times too!

The rates for mumbai standards were very much competitive. No commercial activities, felt safe on the part. Locality just opp. the Khar railway station. Does not seem safe arriving late night though. The bed was not comfortable. AC was placed near the bathroom without any possible adjustments. On the whole, a decent find.
