"Convenient if attending an event"

6.0

Location was great as the party we were attending was at the pub. Lovely view outside and good size room and bathroom.

The room and location was great but the attention to detail needs improvement. Not very clean, there were crisps on the floor in the room. Also holes in the duvet cover and the bedding was wet. I don’t feel the quality was value for money for the price paid.

The view from our garden room was fabulous. The food in the restaurant was lovely.

No outside lighting when we went from our room to the pub (that we could see). No milk or coffee sachets in room, asked for milk and was given some.

"Despite some shortfalls overall it did the job and was pleasant."

6.0

Room had been modernised - it was clean, comfortable and quiet.Parking right outside door. The young lady who checked me in was very helpful despite being under a lot of pressure with phone calls, serving the few customers in the bar etc, Local people told me about the view but the weather was too bad to appreciate it!

From the booking .com website, I was expecting to eat in the restaurant(it was closed on Monday evenings) and to have breakfast the following morning(a notice displayed in the room said they had stopped doing breakfast but a continental breakfast could be delivered to the room if ordered the night before). This option was not offered when I asked about breakfast at check in. However, the young lady who checked me in directed me to the Rose & Crown pub nearby which did good evening meals and to the village shop opposite where I was able to purchase items for a continental breakfast(which I normally have anyway) - so I landed on my feet!
