"Dissapointing had do much to offer but unable to deliver"

5.0

Location to where we need to be

Toilet seat partial broken. Bathroom light flickered badly, made my eyes go funny. Basin sink waste blocked so would not empty. Tea & coffee facility but no cups or spoons to make it in. Beadspread ripped. Main entry door would not stay closed without locking it.

"Clean but challenging for solo women travellers"

5.0

A member of staff took me down to the room. There was a tea making area and fridge. The room was spacious. It was clean. There’s a lovely view of the hills from the pub garden and I had a nice Caesar salad there.

I wouldn’t recommend for solo women travellers. Ground floor, wide bathroom window with easy access and patio door leading to tiny patio (no table or chairs!) and then the tables of the pub garden right there. They can look into your room as if you’re the entertainment. Really off putting. It was a hot summer’s day but I ended up with curtain drawn from 8:30pm. The shower had minimal pressure, it kept cutting out and only cold water. Bracing was fine because it was hot weather but whichever way you turned the dial there was still no warm water on offer.

"A Great Place to Stay in Burwas"

9.0

I was very happy with the location of the hotel in a historical building, although the motel section where I stayed in is from 1970. Staff were very helpful and understanding. I was able to walk across the road to take the local bus to Etchingham Railway Station for my train to London. I enjoyed the fish and chips and chicken caesar salad at the pub. There was a great view from the outdoor area. The motel was also within walking distance to the National Trust Bateman's, the estate of Sir Rudyard Kipling.

The kitchen was only open from 12 noon so there was no breakfast available. The Burwash store is across from the hotel so I was able to get some breakfast food there. The kitchen was also closed on Sunday evening, so once again guests had to pick up dinner from the Burwash store across the road.
