Great management, quite and private arrangements

The location is just outside of town enough that it is so quiet and relaxing, yet still close enough that it’s not a mission to get in and out. The $2 bus was so quick and easy, and the walk in the morning along the lake was so stunning. David’s breakfasts every morning were restaurant quality and delicious and he was happy to cater to our dietary needs. The room itself was huge and so warm and comfortable. Shower had great pressure and was so nice and hot after being out in the cold all day.

Out of our entire 2-week trip, David and Wendy were our favorite hosts! We had the most wonderful stay at the Hidden Lodge and can't wait to return!

Our stay was amazing! From the breathtaking views to the warm hospitality, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks and snacks, cozy underfloor heating in the bathroom (no dampness at all!), and a super comfortable memory foam pillow that made our sleep heavenly. Wendy and David, truly made our stay special. Wendy was incredibly welcoming, providing detailed recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. And David, his breakfasts were absolutely delicious - better than any cafe in town! His local tips also led us to hidden spots we’d never visited before, despite coming to Queenstown yearly. The starry skies were magical at night without any distraction. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend - we’ll definitely be back!

Wendy and David were wonderful hosts. Somehow my booking came through as a 'honeymoon' although it wasn't, however we have decided this is a good excuse to now have a yearly honeymoon, so many thanks to Wendy and David for being such gracious hosts when we told them. The hot tub was a highlight, the room large and comfortable. Small touches - like chocolates, and underfloor heating were greatly appreciated. The breakfast, which is cooked to order at the time that suited you was delicious. The chef and hostess were lovely and friendly and full of suggestions for a day out. We did a winery tour and visited Arrowtown. Of course our stay was too short, but we will be back. The lodge is easily accessible by taking the bus from town or the airport and then getting the number 1 bus from town to the last stop. We found this easy and appreciated being somewhere quieter away from the bustle.

The entire experience from start to finish was fantastic. Wendy, Dave and all the staff were really pleasant and happy to make recommendations to maximise your time in Queenstown. Both the common areas and the bedrooms are well designed and furnished to make the most of the absolutely stunning views. I highly recommend springing for the hot tub. There is something special about lazing it it whilst the sun goes down and the old steam boat chugs past. Literally one of the best places I have ever stayed.
