Star Hotel

Ok hotel for good price 50/50 i would stay again.Make sure you choose Air-cond option or you definitely can't sleep,you may need to pay abit more but a must...

Stayed in a room with a fan. Would recommend A/C but otherwise very nice hotel with great people and a good location.

Location: Battambong is a relatively under developed city in comparison to other cities such as Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. However, I feel that it is in such cities where you are able to experience the true simplicities of the Cambodian lifestyles. Star hotel is situated on street not to far (5 min walk) from the local market and a local bakery (3 min walk). Room: I shared a twin room. The rooms were spacious, neat and clean and were equipped with: air con, tv, clean towels and complimentary bottled water. The was a fridge and electrical outlets. The WiFi worked well in the rooms. The bathroom was clean. The shower was peculiar - there were two shower heads. One supposedly for hot water and one for cold water. I did not have hot water for my one night stay. The beds were firm and I had a good night's rest. There is no inhouse restaurant or dining area but there is a bakery down the road that sells fresh baguettes and pastries as well as a cafe opposite the hotel. Minor drawback: No elevators, so if you have heavy luggage and are assigned a room on a level higher up - you will need to carry them. However, the staff are very friendly and will assist you with your luggage if you desire. Overall: A clean, decent hotel to spend a day or two in. Friendly and helpful staff.

Day staff wasn't friendly the first couple of days, it seems as if they needed to know you. Not the best location. So, i changed to the Royal Hotel where the staff made my stay 100 % better they would completely extend there self for your comfort. Now, the Star, Asia, and Royal are owned by the same family and you can see that their motive is the almighty dollar and again i can say that the staff makes the difference and the people at the Royal are ahead of that game.

We visited this hotel as part of a gadventures package. We had a room on the 3rd floor without a lift. That was ok our cases were light. The room itself was an internal room with no window but that was ok we were only staying for one night. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows firm. The room had a fridge and an old style tv. The bathroom was a wet room and the shower was hot. Soap and toothbrushes were provided. Breakfast wasn’t included as there was no dining room but there was a cafe across the road which did amazing banana and Nutella pancakes.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights, and found the hotel a god basic choice. The rooms are a good size, clean ( well, there were some tiny ants marching around on the dresser ) , good air conditioning and plenty of hot water. The location is decent, not a pretty spot, but an easy walk to the market, and a few more minutes to down town. No restaurant, but there were a few decent spots reasonably close ( although most places nearby closed pretty early in the evening ).

Basic hotel at a low budget cost it is good value. Rooms are old styled but comfortable and clean, with air conditioning and fridge. Staff are a bit shy and speak basic English but they are helpful... It just takes a bit longer to communicate with each other. Location is good, walking distance to shops, restaurants, market, riverside. Very quiet and dark at night in the streets, I might be comfortable walking alone as a woman, but it seemed okay as I was with my husband. Close to Capitol Bus office if you use them to travel to next city.

the hotel is well within walking distance to the riverside, the market, & the tourist restaurants. staff is very friendly, helpful with booking busses & tours etc. nice clean rooms with hot water, fridge, a/c. no elevator, no food, but just opposite is nice cafe/restaurant. except for the disturbing door-banging of many unaware guests, any day- & nighttime, the place is quiet.

Not much to say, big hotel, standard double rooms are clean and are equipped with tv, air conditioning, fan ventilation, a desk and a mini fridge. Bathroom is ok, clean as well. Hot water. Basically it lacks charm, but compensates with good location and personnel. Breakfast is taken at the hotel next door but not really worth it.

We stayed here 1 night as part of a group booking.. The hotel staff try to be as helpful as possible but like lots of Cambodians their understanding of foreign languages is limited. Our room was clean and very large with a very comfortable mattress. For the price we paid you have to aspect that some of the fixtures would be tired and some were. But this hotel gave as a very good nights sleep and although the breakfast was at a neighbouring hotel it was very very good - especially the cheese omelette.
