SBH Costa Calma Beach Resort Hotel

Rooms were large with nice large balconies. Great view of sunrise from my room or the hotel front. Lots of sunloungers and swimming pools. Location right on the beach, out of the main centre of Costa Calma. Staff friendly and helpful (although sometimes too few of them, especially on reception and in the food hall, often had to wait or ask for a table to be cleared). Room service helpful and flexible. Good hot shower. New Year’s Eve special dinner was really nice, with some excellent food options.

Facilities not as described: eg there is no gym on site, it’s a walk down the road. Food fine, rather than good. If you like to eat “nice” on holiday, plan to eat out. Wine from wine dispensing machine was even worse than I had imagined. Non-alcoholic drinks dispensers worked less time than they were down (I think run out). So i drank the horrible (desalinated) tap water most of the time. “Cocktails” in the beach bar were mixes of cheap, synthetic, sugary syrups with alcohol, rather than any actual juices etc. Dishwashers don’t work: cutlery and crockery often dirty. Room cheaply furnished, uncomfortable bed with low quality bedding. Late check out not available during busy periods. Not a suitable place for solo travellers.

It was not clean, and the food was bad—I couldn’t eat it at the restaurant. The plates and cups were very dirty, and I felt nauseous. Never again

The best resort I've ever stayed at. Spacious, clean rooms with a lovely big balcony. Air-conditioning works very well. The pools were big and lovely. The food at restaurant was delicious and fresh at every meal, fresh seafood and meats at lunch and dinner.. the resort has 3 bars, one at the pool, one on the beach and one opening in the evening with different shows to entertain.The resort has a private beach with umbrellas and lounge chairs which was just so convenient. The resort is easy accessible from the airport by airport shuttle ( 38 euro return ticket) the driver will drop you directly to the hotel and pick you up from the hotel too. All trips available from the south of island will come to collect you at the hotel too. Costa Calma is a lovely small town with a nice park and few stores. Would also recommend visiting a local market ( close to police station) every Sunday until 1pm. I would also recommend spending a day on a boat trip with Magic&Sailing company. we can't really say anything bad, it was positive, they are ready to help in everything and act quickly.

the bed linen was not changed during the stay. it was corrected and that's it.
