Macdonald La Ermita Resort

Loved the location and facilities. The apartment was very well decorated and great attention to detail. The resort was extremely clean everywhere.The views from the pool area were superb and we found this area to be quiet and relaxing. Never expected to use the indoor pool but did often, enjoyed it there was a spa tranquility about it.

It was difficult to locate the resort because the address was different than that provided by Hotels.com. Apparently the street name had been changed. We were also told at check-in that there would be an additional 5 euro/day surcharge for electricity. The rooms are actually small condo facilities, so you have lots of room - just not in the bedroom. Also the bathroom in our unit was not located next to the bedroom, but next to the kitchen, which I found odd. The kitchen was very nice and well supplied. The service provided was minimal. You're suppose to put the room back basically the way you found it before check out or you incur an extra cleaning fee. The restaurant on site did not open for breakfast until 10. I think in high season it opens at 9. The view out the back of the resort is fabulous since you are basically on a mountainside with a lovely view of the Mediterranean. I had hoped for a great view out of our unit, which did have a terrace complete with table and chairs; however, all we had a view of was the trees tight up against it. Other units may be better situated.

We spent a week here in the very beautiful town of Mijas. The Hotel is great, the apartments are big, clean and very well equipped and the location is perfect. Reception staff were so helpful and nothing was ever a problem and the same can be said for the staff all over the Hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone. I had a massage twice in the week I was there and would recommend it completely, suffice to say its probably one of the best that I've ever had. There is also a restaurant at the Hotel where the food is great and the staff are also friendly and helpful.

Lovely rooms - although there are 4 blocks built over different periods, and perhaps some of them are privately owned and sub-let, so maybe the quality isn't the same throughout? Ours was immaculate, spacious with a nice balcony and table. Only potential problem was that there is very little space around the pool (since it's practically on the side of a mountain!) so when busy I can't imagine there's enough space for everyone to have a sunbed. However, the view was great and the location good (three mins walk to central Mijas, but it might be steep for anyone with walking difficulties). Has a huge carpark under the hotel for guests.

Ticks all the neccessary boxes. First class all round, except bar and restaurant which were really a non-event. The chef was charming but completely useless!

Staff very polite and helpful . Apartment clean but old fashioned. Could do with air con in bedrooms.

This was the best holiday I have had in years. Stunning views, beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and apartment spotless ! Mijas Paublo is a fantastic mountain village, with a very happy atmosphere and very relaxing, regular bus service to wherever you want to go. FANTASTIC

Fabulous we will be back! Immaculate facilities and excellent location.
