Macdonald La Ermita Resort

Very close to the square. Fantastic facilities at resort and super helpful and friendly staff. Will be staying again very soon.

Excellent, been before. However, we were initially allocated the wrong apartment not as purchased via Hotels.com

We had a 2 bedroom apartment that had 2 huge balconies, albeit we only used one. The views from our balcony to the sea were simply stunning. The apartment was very well equipped, clean and very spacious. The only fault we could find was that the air conditioning was only in the lounge. Both bedrooms had a fan however. 2 good sized bathrooms. By bus it is only 30 minutes to the beach in Fuengirola, but as we were only in Mijas for 5 nights, we only ventured out once. Quite a few things to see in Mijas, and plenty of good restaurants.

Very nice hotel. Great location, short few mins walk uphill to Mijas Pueblo centre. A well equipped apartment, good shower and bathroom and comfortable beds. WiFi worked fine, secure parking in block. Pools were well looked after and plenty of sun loungers. Reception staff friendly and helpful, quick check in and out.

Spent 8 days at La Ermita with the family and couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. Will definitely be back!

The two bedroom apartment was very clean. Definitely opt for higher floor to avoid noise of people above. The apartment had comfy bedrooms and was adequately furnished. The decor is very 80’s but the cleanliness made up for this! Lovely big balcony with beautiful views. All three pools were great, but the issues with sun beds continues. There simply aren’t enough and so at 8.15 am every morning people start queuing even though the pool doesn’t open till 9.15! Once the gates are opened it’s s bit of a free fir all! The hotel simply doesn’t seem to want to resolve this issue! The restaurant at the hotel is fine but not that accommodating. My husband ordered and omelette but didn’t want it with the chips so asked for a salad with instead. One day they did it another day they refused! We didn’t go back after that. The canes room by the lowere pool has a pool table and table tennis but the quality of the pool was really poor, so we didn’t bother with it! The best things about the hotel are the views, the cleanliness and the proximity to Mijas! All in all great in places, but could do better in others!

Beautiful Hotel ideally located within walking distance of all amenities in the wonderful town of Mijas. When we arrived we were given a room at the side of the hotel with virtually no view and little sunshine. But when I told the receptionist about our concerns we were immediately upgraded to a bigger beautiful apartment with excellent views. I cannot fault the accommodation in any way, it has everything you could possibly need and it is immaculate.The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. The only complaint I have is concerning the limited amount of sun loungers. While there are notices at the pool and in the hotel handbook stating that loungers cannot be reserved by placing towels on them it doesn't stop people doing just this. There were several groups of guests who put towel on up to 6 beds as soon as the pool area opened at 9.00 am and didn't show up to use them until 1.00 pm every day. Due to the location of the hotel on the side of a hill only about half of the loungers are in sunlight at any given time and most of them are already nabbed by 9.00 am. I think the pool staff should enforce the rules. Sorry to have ranted on so much about sun beds but it was the only thing that slightly spoiled an otherwise perfect holiday.

The staff are very friendly and we had a great 3 days. It's in great position, easy to get to. The hotel is spotless and we were greeted with smiles when we arrived. I would definitely return.

Great place to relax and unwind Friendly staff and excellent pool facilities

Excellent stay. Excellent staff from the receptionist to the chef who went out of his way to ensure we were happy. We will definitely be back to a MacDonald Resort. Mijas may be a little far out for golfing requirements in the future but Dona Lola will definitely be on our short list.
