Kukula is an amazing place to stay. The bungalow was immaculate with fantastic space, amazing bathroom and privately situated in thick jungle. You really feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest, yet it is a short 5 minute walk to restaurants, bars, shops and a 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. It is quite an immersive experience and we found we got into the rhythm of the jungle during our stay, albeit the 5am howler monkey alarm clock made this non-negotiable! The owners and staff cannot do enough to help and the breakfasts were wonderful. During our stay we saw 2 species of monkey in the trees above our bungalow, agoutis, green macaws, armadillo, countless other birds and insects and several species of tree frogs in the area after nightfall. There aren't many places you can watch a hummingbird feed from a flower while standing in the shower less than 2 metres away. We would go back in a heartbeat

I cannot think of anything that would improve it

This is my 3rd time staying with La Kukula and each time just gets better and better. The owners are so kind and helpful that it makes you feel like you are part of a family. The surroundings are stunning and peaceful and a must for any serious nature lover. The symphony of the rainforest it 24/7 and the various creatures you will see is exceptional. It is located far enough outside of the main towns to feel extremely private and is only a short walk away to Playa Chiquita. The breakfast included is always amazing.

I cannot think of a single negative.

Extremely beautiful place in a peaceful location. Very nice hosts. We have seen 2 tucans and an iguana there

Very thin structure gets noisy if you have neighbours- second bed did not have mosquito net ( during the night a geco felt right in the face of my husband) - had laundry service, for the cost (20$) I woukd have expected clothes if not ironed at least neatly folded

The property is set in amazing rainforest gardens, the hosts are charming and welcoming and so enthusiastic about the wildlife in the area, so happy to show visitors the frogs and lizards, sloths and birds. I absolutely loved it. It felt so safe, clean and friendly i would definitely recommend La Kukula Lodge

What a pleasant stay our family enjoyed at La Kukula Lodge! The accommodations exceeded our expections for the price. Proximity to the beach while being surrounded by jungle was fantastic! Cooked-to-order breakfast each morning ensured we started our day off right. We will definitely be back- thank you!!
