Nice little room, lovely staff

Jo is very nice and the location is super.

The room is quite small, especially the toilet and shower area. We stayed there for four days. It would have been fine for just one night, but spending several days with such a tiny shower space and bedding that wasn’t very clean wasn’t very pleasant. The soundproofing was not very good as well.

Great location close to all amenities, but being a front room on the main road noise is a problem. The bedroom would benefit from curtains rather than blinds to cut out the street lighting to aid better sleep. Otherwise the room was good, but the bathroom is tiny.

Owner welcomed us warmly, parking was available right outside the door, room was clean and comfortable, bathroom very small but adequate. Very good location

Larger bathroom

Bedding clean lots of extra little touches, but problems with shower not draining away, taps on the sink and bathroom shelf. Parking in front of building difficult if you have a large car

The location is excellent - within easy walking distance of the town, Barter Books, the Castle and the Gardens. The room was clean and comfortable with some thoughtful touches.

We contacted the owners in advance to see if we could drop off our suitcase early, ahead of formal check-in, and we're told to phone when we arrived. Eleven calls, plus a text and an email elicited no response. On our first morning we discovered a problem with the shower; it took in excess of an hour to drain. Again, reports drew no response. An otherwise good trip was rather overshadowed by poor communications.

Value for money, fabulous location, friendly staff. Very enjoyable stay
