"Exceptional"

10.0

We stayed here for 2 nights in May and it was amazing. The B&B is located in a quiet little town that is still recovering from the 2011 flood. The facility is clean and new, and access is surprisingly good. It's less than 1/2 hour drive to Monterosso (the northern most town of Cinque Terre with plenty of parking) or La Spezia (if you need to get supplies). The host are friendly and informative despite the language gap. Oh, their breakfast is great too! Bonus: if you auto enthusiast, the mountain roads around it make for excellent driving. Overall we were extremely happy with it.

"Off the beaten path B&B"

8.0

This B&B is a little hard to get to. But once there the owners are a lovely couple that go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable (although their English is limited). On our arrival we were given a lot of information on how best to visit Cinque Terre. The room was nice and the breakfast featured home made cakes every day.

"Great relief from the Cinque Terre crowds"

10.0

A beautifully restored building (after the 2011 flood) in the mountain village of Casale, very comfortable, very quiet. The room was excellent, and after braving the massive crowds of the Cinque Terre, I loved the peace and quiet, at night the only thing I heard was the river. The remote location makes travel by car useful but it can be approached by bus from La Spazia; at 5:45pm the bus leaves from in front of the train station (at street level), and returns to La Spazia, leaving Casale at 7:40am in the morning. From there you can jump on the train to the Cinque Terra and be in Monterosso in 15min, and also get away from the crowds just as quickly. Hosts Edda and Ewaldo are warm and generous, although note that only Edda (a school teacher) speaks any English. And yes, there is a restaurant in the village.

"Wonderful family stay in the mountains"

10.0

We loved the couple running the B&B. They provided detailed information about Cinque Terre and how to get around from one village to the next via the train and ferry including all the timetables. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy with Edda's home made cakes each morning. Pizza Pazzo which is right across from the hotel has excellent pizza. Our room was large with a mini fridge (but does not have air conditioning). If you are considering this hotel you definitely need a car to drive to Monterosso or another Cinque Terre village to do your hike.

"Beautiful and tranquil... Also quite isolated..."

8.0

The hotel itself and owners were beautiful, very accommodating and thoroughly went through everything of interest as a tourist in the area. Only problem was they spoke very little English and unfortunately my our Italian is very broken. We did manage to get by but for people with zero Italian may find it difficult. The BnB is also a lot more isolated than we realised, it was lucky we hired a car and we never would have found it if we hadn't had an iPad with navigation... Over all a very tranquil and relaxing stay but not ideal if you like being able to go for walks or have only short drives to find some other humans..

"Great place to stay."

10.0

A little remote, about 10 miles from the Cinque Terre but worth the daily drive if you come by car and want to experience living like many Italians do. The host and hostess are really nice. Good to know a little Italian.

"Wonderful hotel"

10.0

The people at La Meridiana were so wonderful and their service was great! They were so helpful letting us know different places to explore and places that we should see while we were there. It was so relaxing and enjoyable and the fresh breakfast every morning was delicious. We/I would definetly stay there again.
