"Great B&B outside of Cinque Terra area"

10.0

This bed and breakfast was the best stay of our trip to Italy. We wanted to allow 2 days to visit the Cinque Terra area, so we choose this B&B since it was not a far drive from the area and was a lot less expensive than staying in one of the town in Cinque Terra. The B&B is located in a little town that had a horrible flood several year back (I forget the date). The owner had a book, I don't read Italian, but understood enough by the photos. The B&B is gorgeous, more than I expected. It had 2 balconies you could sit on, which we did in the evening and enjoyed a drink. The breakfast was amazing!!! The owner makes an assortment of baked goods which were wonderful. I love to bake my self, so really appreciated her assortment of fresh baked goods. Besides the baked goods that I ate way too much of, there was also the traditional assortment of cheeses and hams, and breads. They also had yogurt, cereal, juice, and espresso served in a pot right at the table. After trekking through the town of Cinque Terra, we still enjoyed walking around this quiet, sleepy town at night. We had rented a car and drove to the town in Italy. GPS recommended! The roads are very windy, but we are use to driving on roads like this back home in the mountains. The owners were very nice and helpful. She spoke more English than he did, but he was able to provide clear directions on a map!!

"Excellent little B&B near Cinque Terre"

10.0

The other comments are quite accurate. About 20-25 min drive to Monterosso. The couple that own and run the place are exceptionally friendly and offer a lot of advice. The gentleman only speaks Italian (but I understood him!) and the lady also speaks some English and French (and more perhaps). Value for money, especially when compared to the hotels / B&Bs at some of the Cinque Terre villages. Breakfast is included. Highly recommended.

"A delightful B&B in beautiful Cinque Terre"

10.0

This B&B was the most delightful stay of my two-week Italian vacation. For those visiting Cinque Terre, this beautiful refurbished 400-year old home in the hills above Monterosso al Mare in the tiny town of Casale feels like a trip to the past. For me, the previous days in Italy was a swirl of activity and sightseeing and dealing with the busy roads and seemingly-insane drivers. So being at La Meridiana was a perfect change-of-pace from that frenetic pace. The very friendly couple that own the B&B were wonderful hosts. Although she spoke only a little English and he spoke no English, she still provided very helpful information about the region, transportation and restaurants in the area. To enjoy the ambience of small town Italy in a gorgeous and majestic part of Italy, I can highly recommend La Meridiana as a place to stay.

"lovely house in the middle of nowhere"

8.0

the hotel is a beautiful home ran by the nicest elderly couple. but it's located kind of in the middle of no where and about 30 minutes from one end of cinque terre. also they speak very limited english so information is detail is a slight problem.

"basic B&B"

4.0

location was an issue just in a remote area. hard to find it. Definitely dont go there without a car, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was basic not many options. Communication was also a problem.

"Authenticly charming"

8.0

At first glance we did not know what to expect, but the owners were so charming and welcoming that it made our stay well worth the trip. The hotel was very clean and the lady made every effort to speak our language and give us all the necessary info to restaurants and points of interest. The smell of cake baking in the evening made it even more wonderful. Would stay again.

"Nice hotel in a remote small town"

8.0

Peaceful tranquil location in the mountains surrounding Cinque Terra. Not a lot in the area but the basics. 1 very good restaurant and a very pretty hotel with wonderful and accommodative staff. We had quite a tricky drive to get there as this is off the main drag of Cinque Terra. Our GPS was not great in this area. Otherwise it was about a 20 minute drive to Monterosso one of the 5 towns of Cinque Terra and a beautiful spot. I cannot say enough about the staff or pretty hotel. This is family run and we met the couple as we got there and they were able to help us with every need.

"Nice B & B. Wonderful breakfast, very helpful!!"

10.0

We had a wonderful stay at La Meridiana. The couple that owns it were so helpful and kind. It is a little far from Cinque Terre but we had a car so it wasn't a problem at all. The B & B is in a quaint little town. We travelled as a family 2 adults and 3 kids. They accommodated all of us in one room and provided exceptional service.

"Exceptional"

The hosts were wonderful. We did not stay long, arrived late at night and left early the next morning, but the hosts were extremely attentive while we were there. Wish we had had more time to explore the surroundings!

"Family trip to Italy"

10.0

It was great. We came with our two teenage children. The accommodations were lovely and so were the hosts. We were only there for one night, but I could have stayed for a week. Edda and Ubaldo are the kindest couple. They made certain that we had all the maps we needed, where to park in Monterosso as well as where to eat. In the morning they had prepared the most wonderful breakfast. We couldn't have been more pleased. I hope to come back here.
