Farmhotel Efstidalur

Great little cabin.plenty big enough for 2 The shower stall was a little tight but the room was clean and very comfortable. My wife and i had the trout for dinner. I cant rave enough about it. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Had a wonderful trout dish for dinner at their restaurant. The family room was great. Plenty of space for the three of us. Would stay here again.

Nice valley view.

Lovely to watch the cows as we ate ice cream and during breakfast. Staff were great. Dine in option at the restaurant was appreciated and most convenient. Room itself was rustic. Door gap allowed cold air to enter room - not ideal. Shower was also difficult to operate - hot and cold not consistent. Rain shower head worked but hand held did not. Bed linens had waffle weave pattern which was rough and coarse on skin - great looking but not comfortable.

Overall a lovely place. We were very comfortable. Staff friendly and lovely to see cows in barn while sitting in lower lounge. Some small issues especially the very basic shower cubicle. Some extra items in room would be useful such as a small tray for cups, a fridge, bigger bedside table.

Loved the ice cream and the dogs. And we saw the Aurora for hours!

Lovely room with an amazing view. Due to our flight time changing we arrived after the scheduled check in time but the team (via email in advance and by phone on the day) were extremely friendly and helpful and made arrangements to allow us to arrive late.

The hotel is a ways off from the reception and restaurant. You’ll want to drive back and forth since it’s too cold and slippery to walk. We had a room on the view side and it was beautiful. The room was clean and spacious. It has floor heating which was nice but too hot at night. We turned it down before bed but it was still too hot and stuffy so we opened the window but it still wasn’t enough. The walls are also very thin. We could hear all our neighbors talking, using the shower, and awkward encounters. They woke us up early. The room is nice and reasonably priced but I wouldn’t stay again since I like my sleep. The food at the restaurant is delicious.

A different experience . Definitely recommend
