Farmhotel Efstidalur

I had the most magical stay at this hotel. It was like walking into a christmas movie or something. The restaurant was delicious and you could tell it was all very fresh! Make sure you get some ice cream too, it will change your life. The rooms are like little cabins and they're so cozy and cute. We lucked out and ended up getting to see the most incredible Northern Lights show the night we stayed here, it was just so magical. It also started snowing literally as we turned to go up the driveway. It was like a winter wonderland or a fairy tale or something. They have all the cows grazing that you can watch from dinner or on the main level, and even some little calves too. They were so cute. This would be a perfect place to stay if you plan on doing the golden circle tour as it's pretty centrally located to most of the locations. And definitely check out the geothermal pools just a quick drive down the road!

The cows eating outside the window of the restaurant really gave meaning to the phrase “farm to table”! Staff pleasant but a few lessons on enhancing the guest experience would improve most ratings. Would stay here again.

Excellent service. Quiet and remote with walking paths and big bounce pad for the kids. Fresh ice cream was amazing. Restaurant on property had good food but somewhat limited choices. Although food was expensive it was in line with other restaurants in the area.

Amazing stay highly recommended

First night of 9 day trip around Ring Road. Did not disappoint. Motel style, clean.....restaurant was the draw! Eating watching cows eat their hay. And the views!!!

The property is conveniently located in the Golden Circle. Easy to foind. Staff was less than helpful, pointing in the dark to the building with the rooms, which is away from the reception, dining building. Getting to our room required walking in the dark along poorly lit gravel and stone paths. Rooms had in floor heating, but was very warm, too warm for sleep so we slept with the window open.

Beautiful farm, well maintained. Had the family room which was very spacious. Recommend

The Efstidalur Farmhouse was a lovely stay. It is charming, the staff is nice and helpful, and there is a restaurant onsite for breakfast and dinner (u sure about lunch as we weren’t there at that time). The rooms are cozy, shower is small, but that’s pretty standard for Europe. One caution- be careful where you step- as a working farm, there are animals around and they leave poop…don’t step in it!

Fantastic stay in the family room for our family of four. Amazing view from our room. Delicious hamburgers at the on-site restaurant.
