Phuwadee Resort & Spa

Ein etwas älteres, aber sehr gepflegtes Hotel direkt an einem wunderschönen Strand. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut top. Wir waren nun schon zum zweiten Mal hier und würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen.

Ignore the old reviews- this place has had a makeover and for the price, it’s excellent. You can’t get closer to the beach, the area is quiet but still with enough shops/ cafes and restaurants. Good air con, hot shower with good temperature, clean bedding and room. We stayed here for two nights over new years to head to the FMP, it was about 300 baht ew pp for a taxi there and also about 300 baht pp to the pier - but it’s much nicer than staying in Haad Rin if you’re a couple. And the beach makes it also worth paying that bit extra for! Didn’t use the pool but plenty of people were, the temperature felt good (perhaps could’ve had a bit of a clean though)

Wer eine einfache nicht zu teure Unterkunft direkt am Strand möchte, ist hier richtig. Uns wurde das Resort empfohlen, aber leider wurden unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt. Die Einrichtung gibt alle Grundelemente her, hier ist kein besonderer Komfort. Das Bett ist nicht sonderlich bequem und die Vorhänge verdunkeln den Raum nicht sehr zuverlässig. Sonderlich sauber war es leider auch nicht, aber es war ausreichend. In unserer ersten Nacht hatten wir Ameisen im Bett. Nachdem wir uns an der Rezeption gemeldet haben, wurden diese auch erfolgreich entfernt. Nichts desto trotz kann man hier auf dem Boden immer wieder Ameisen erwarten. Im Badezimmer hatten wir eine Schabe als Mitbewohner, auch hiermit ist zu rechnen. Im gesamten war diese Unterkunft ausreichend. Ist aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Fußläufig (10 min) ist eine kleine Meile mit Restaurants und co. zu finden. Man sollte sich hier aber bewusst sein, das man weiter ab vom Schuss ist und bis in die Stadt schon 30 - 40 min fährt. Ein Roller ist hier zu empfehlen, aber Fahrerfahrung wäre hier aufgrund der Straßen von Vorteil.

Erst mal das Positive: die Lage der Anlage ist toll, direkt am Strand, überall Bäume, mitten im Grünen. Der Pool ist ok, wird täglich gereinigt. Die Gärtner und Putzfrauen grüßen freundlich, dass war es aber schon. Das Negative: die Anlage und die Bungalows sind in die Jahre gekommen und machen einen ungepflegten Eindruck. Die Reinigung der Zimmer muss angekünfigt werden( Schild am Türgriff hängen), wobei nur mal kurz gekehrt wird und das Bett gemacht wird. Reinigung im Badezimmer / Toilette Fehlanzeige. Das Wasser sollte nan erst ein wenig laufen lassen, bis mal klares Wasser kommt und das Wasser riecht zeitweise seltsam.... Die Freundlichkeit des Managements ist für Thaiverhältnisse garnicht vorhanden. Ok, für den Preis war nicht mehr zu erwarten und es war halt auch nur zum schlafen. Das nächstemal gebe ich wieder mehr für das Zimmer aus, aber nicht in dieser Anlage.

First impressions were great , fantastic beach location and nice restaurant, expert massage facility and generally friendly staff . However I have one major complaint . The resort is advertised on booking.com as having a spa , The Spa turned out to be a dilapidated ruin . This alone for me was not a problem as really had little intention of using the Spa . The problem was My bungalow was situated next to this crumbling ruin of a spa which was full of stagnant water and a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I explained that I was unhappy with this situation and was not offered a room away from this mosquito breeding ground . At this point I said I would check out early and asked for a refund . I was told a refund was not possible as I had paid by card and not cash , I politely explained that I was unhappy with this and the manager told me it was my fault for not looking around properly before accepting the room ! She suggested I find a better quality hotel , I thanked her kindly for her advice and did just that. I really do not like to complain but if I feel people need to be careful which bungalow they are allocated at this otherwise fairly decent resort ,

This is my third stay in the hotel, but my goodness has it gone down hill. Unfriendly staff, unclean room (toilet disgusting, bad smell, mosquito ridden, paint hanging from walls). The location on the other hand is lovely, fantastic beach and restaurants / bars in the area. If you can afford to, stay elsewhere as we will be next time. Hotel has potential, but I don’t think the staff have any intention of improving.

Excellent location right on a beautiful beach. Huts are a little aged but good value overall. Wifi is terrible. Breakfast is basic. The photo is the view from the Deluxe Beach bungalow we stayed in

We had the beachfront deluxe- the the view was amazing and right on the beach ( as pictured below) The hut is basic but had some nice touches like coffee and kettle and real tissues... Air conditioning worked well. The beach is amazing as is the little village here- a great place to wind down. While the huts are ageing they are reasonable value. Negatives; The wifi keeps kicking you off which is frustrating and causes increased mobile roaming data charges. The breakfast is very basic- don't stress if you sleep in and miss it. Would I stay here again- If on a budget yes- there are some lovely resorts on this beach which are more expensive.

Het strand is fantastisch, het resort wordt slecht onderhouden. Dit was de derde keer dat we bij Phuwadee verbleven en eigenlijk was er helemaal niets veranderd behalve dat alles verouderd was. Zwembadje was 7 van de 9 dagen gesloten omdat het filtersysteen niet werkte, er waren nog maar zes gehavende strandstoelen over. Kamers waren ruim en schoon als altijd maar wel basic ingericht. Wel een goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding want je betaald ook niet veel.

Oh my goodness, this place needs some love!!! This place is getting very run down! The beds are SO uncomfortable, feels like they are made of concrete!! The pool smells kinda strange and their just doesn’t seem like there is much care taken with the place. I booked months in advance and was sending various emails with request for a taxi transfer, which no one would reply, when I rang them eventually they informed me that I didn’t have enough information on our ferrie in the email, I don’t understand why they couldn’t have sent this back. The food is ok, very cheap. We booked here for a week and stayed one night and moved to another hotel closer to the village which we only paid a slightly higher rate but was well worth it. Felt like we went from hell to absolute luxury! When I told them we where leaving and why they didn’t seem very fussed about it at all! We definitely won’t be going back here again.
