Just having somewhere to lay my head

My toilet was broke but they fixed it. On line it says heated pool it was cold as ice .could have had better breakfast. Rude staff. And construction in area.

"Difficult to find due to construction, but clean and comfortable."

Easy to get to downtown New Bern. There is construction in front of the hotel, so it was initially a bit difficult to find. Once you figured out where it was, though, it was easy to find. Initially seemed like the check in staff was a bit grump; we were checking to see if we could go ahead and check in early since we were there, but she couldn't do it. That was fine. We went back later and had no issues getting checked in. They've been remodeling, had signs up apologizing for any noise. We heard nothing. Lobby smelled good. Hallways were good. Room was clean, but the floors seemed a bit slick and the bathroom floor looked a bit wet most of the time and slick under shoes. Not sure what they'd cleaned with, but the room smelled like bleach when we walked in. Not unpleasantly so, however. Shower spray was a bit weak at had a high pitched squeal to it. Plenty of hot water. The next morning, however, the water was hot but was turned all the way on and didn't get any hotter. We did report to the front desk. Bed was comfortable, AC worked pretty well. Breakfast was good, hot choices. Staff didn't necessarily seem to be exceptionally friendly in the breakfast room, but also didn't interact much with them. Melinda, the manager, came around to see how things were, and how we'd like prowling around New Bern. It was a nice touch! Would recommend staying at this hotel.

all seemed clean but the smell of disinfectant was extremely overpowering, through out. And sadly for this location there is a LOT of road construction which made it tricky to navigate in and out of the hotel.
