Hot springs access available from 3:00 PM to 9:30 AM.Reservations are required for private bath/onsen. Reservations can be made by contacting the ryokan prior to arrival, using the contact information on the booking confirmation. Children may not be eligible for complimentary breakfast.The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file. Construction is underway at a neighboring building and there may be noise disturbance from the construction work. Please note that some properties do not permit guests with tattoos to use the onsite public bathing facilities.

Great hospitality from hotel staff. Best English verbal and written skills I have ever experienced. Everything was done just right. Nothing more nothing less! Honestly the the soft skills of the staff were much better than many 6 star hotels in Japan.

Charming onsen hotel with very warm and attentive staff. Japanese style room was snug with 4 futon beds but otherwise no issues!

"Worst Hotel experience ever!"

My husband and I stayed at Hidetai Hanougi for 2 nights which included breakfast and dinner. First night after dinner my husband got violently sick and down with food poisoning. The staff cannot speak English and hence were not accommodating and left the room unclean and messy despite requesting a basic room clean and extra toilet paper and fresh towels three times. No one came for the room clean. The attendant assigned to us Tatsu was extremely inexperienced having worked in hospitality for less than a month with Hidatei Hanaougi being his first stint in hotel industry. He left us hanging between courses for over 30 mins and did not understand that my husband was terribly ill and needed sleep for a few hours after a very sleepless night. I strongly believe that if we are paying this amount of money for a luxury stay, the staff need to be experienced and well trained which wasn’t the case here. Absolute pity that we had one of the worst experiences we have ever had. We travel the world for leisure and this one is by far the worst experience. The only pro in all this was the service by this kind man with glasses at reception. He spoke English and was very kind and showed empathy for my husbands food poisoning situation. He was the only one who actually asked him how he was feeling. Thank you for that. We appreciate the kind words and the empathy. Besides that we wouldn’t recommend this place. Over priced, terribly amateur service with food poisoning capacity food.

I reserved and paid $470 for a room with a private out door bath. The room the hotel gave us was without bath. The price is way too expensive for a room without an out door bath. We opted to pay additional $120 for a room with outdoor bath.

The hotel should have more free shuttle bus service to the train station. The last bus from hotel to station was 11:10am but our train was 12:33pm bound for Tokyo. So, we had no choice but waited more than an hour in the train station.
