Magic Reef Bungalows

The layout and the vegetation was absolutely beautiful

I wish they had a bar on site where you could order food/drinks

Die Bungalows sind sehr schön direkt am Meer gelegen, geräumig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail im polynesischen Stil gehalten. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und das Personal ist höflich und zuvorkommend. Besonders gut haben uns die Outdoor-Dusche und -Badewanne gefallen.

Die Bungalows sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, werden aber nach meinem Verständnis gerade nach und nach renoviert. Zudem würde der Anlage ein Restaurant oder zumindest eine Bar gut tun, zumal es in der näheren Umgebung nicht all zu viele Möglichkeiten zum Essen und Trinken gibt. Außerdem fanden wir etwas schade, dass die Waschmaschinennutzung nur gegen zusätzliche Gebühr möglich ist.

This place is great. Nice, exceptionally clean, and comfortable bungalows. Very genuinely pleasant and helpful staff. Nice bed, quiet (except for the surf which we found relaxing), and peaceful setting. Free breakfast the first morning. Wonderful sunsets. Multiple places to eat with a quick up or down the beach walk. They offer fully electric rental cars at a reasonable cost which are perfect for island transportation (trust us you will want a vehicle while there). Our observation is that there is quite a large variance in the quality of accommodations on Rarotonga; not always tied directly to cost. This is a small, family owned facility which is extremely well run. You can tell they thought through the details. We would stay here again for sure.

Honestly there was nothing we disliked. When choosing a bungalow, recognize that the closer you get to the beach, the more wind and surf noise there is. We were right on the beach and it was fine for us, but it is something to note. The reef was fairly shallow where the property is, but a short walk will get you to an area where it is easier to swim. We loved walking out on the reef at low tide.

Great location.

I know most (if not all) of the villas have been renovated. However, we were given a villa that had not been renovated, but this was not reflected in the price. This was disappointing.

Magic Reef was amazing. The Bungalow was very comfortable with all the facilities we needed. The property was excellent also. Well maintained, beautiful outdoor areas and right on the beach. The perfect place to relax and recharge.

The bungalows are lovely. Gardens and facilities are immaculate. The managers Simmone and Lawrence took care of anything and everything, so welcoming and helpful!
