The Talbot Hotel

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Even though there was a misunderstanding about food being available on the Sunday evening the owner opened the restaurant just for us. The Sunday lunch was excellent value for money. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep followed by a lovely breakfast.

A little noisy from the bar but it was a bank holiday. Wouldn’t stop us staying again.

The room was clean and comfortable. Both the breakfast and the evening meal were delicious and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money and a great location.

95Stay was great but just tried booking again based upon paying when we arrive via booking.com which weve always done........... dont do it as they charged us the full price of the room with no advance notice. When speaaking to booking.com and I say that tongue in check because I got an AI response, I got told to talk to the hotel regards refund etc. You cant talk to the hotel because each time you call you get a message saying that number not recognised mmmmmmm something wrong here. Maybe I should have gone with the kings arms cos although I knew I'd be paying in advance, it was onnly £63 pounds and not the 90.07 that I was willing to pay at the Talbot because we know and like the place. I'll maybe think again in future

Breakfast was quite good

The evening menu was either steak or burger. If you didn't eat these you have a problem. The amount of abusive language while trying to check was unconscionable. The room was cold with radiators not working, though had a temporary oil filled one provided

Food was disappointing, passable, but a bit of a throwback to 20 years ago - breakfast with no fruit or yohurt, just DIY sliced bread for toast, poor quality condiments, no proper coffee - dinner choices really poor unless you like burgersand we don't.
