"Nice hotel up and behind the yacht club. "

8.0

Being on top of the hill has the benefits of being away from town and it’s inherent noise but also means a fair amount of climbing. As I was on the top floor and breakfast is down in the garden this represents 7 floors to climb. Thankfully I’m still reasonably fit. The staff were always polite and cheery and the place acceptably clean despite the constant downpours. My only negative points are that the hand towels felt cheap and non absorbent and the breakfast was far too salty. I brought this up and was told that they do not add salt the eggs are cooked in butter. Friends I told this too said that there is a local butter substitute which is very salty. it may be that this was used.

"Disappointed"

4.0

We were hoping for a relaxing vacation for a leg of our honeymoon tour- but got stressed instead. What was supposed to be a honeymoon "suite" was just a tiny room, and other than the petals on the bed, there was special about it at all. In fact, it smelled very old, and we found at least two cockroaches in the room. The bathroom was so small as well. The water that came out of the faucet was brown and murky (imagine brushing your teeth and gargling with that water). One of the reasons we chose the place was the pool, but for all the days we were there, the pool had no water (because the water was muddy) - and these we're not communicated to us prior, even when we've been in touch via phone with a representative from the resort days before our arrival. The only saving grace was when they finally agreed to transfer us to a better/cleaner room without a charge (which only happened after we persistently requested despite the rejection). The room we transferred to was spacious and a lot nicer but still not without flaws. Upon waking up the following morning, we found our laptop bag which stored inside the cabinet drenched because there was a leak on the roof of the cabinet. Service was lackluster as well. you have to have a lot of patience waiting for breakfast. So they took our order, did not set expectations about possible delays, only to find out 1 hour and several follow ups after that one of the crew was still in the market to buy the ingredients for our breakfast. Pfft.

"Lots of steps"

8.0

This is a lovely wee hotel but certainly not for folk with any mobility issues as there are steps to get to everything! Breakfast is served in the restaurant at the bottom of the grounds - lots of steps! Pool is down steps - not many choices of beds and the one I got was broken. Pool table and games room is unusable due to poor condition of table and no air conditioning in the room. Staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. Always seem to keep themselves busy about the hotel and grounds. Restaurant is lovely and reasonably priced. Gardens are lovely.

"GREAT STAY"

10.0

Stayed at the Honeymoon Room at the Manor. King Size Bed small but nice room with big terrace with view Free breakfast 10 choices and a great breakfast. Had dinner at their sister restaurant "FELLINI aka CASA ITALIA", best pizza i've ever had including Italy and the price was moderate. Manor is on a small hill overlooking four waters including Puerto Galera Bay...it is not a beach hotel but near all the beaches which is what we prefer. No insects due to the nice breeze, no vendors, private and exclusive. I'm going back. .

they were currently renovating ... the staff were brilliant esp the young boy. Always needed a lift to get anyway but that's cheap. The pool was great .... once it is finished .. it will be a better place to stay. The art work around the place was really cool. We felt looked after and valued.

""Far from the madding crowd""

10.0

The simple elegance of The Manor gave us full value for our money. Upon arrival at the Muelle Port from Batangas (around 40 minutes of a boat ride), our party of eight boarded three tricycles. We paid 100pesos per trike. With our luggages and the steep road going up the resort, that amount was worth it. And wow! The mountain-top resort had a breath-taking view of the cove. The well-maintained greenery and clean foyer automatically gave a sense of serenity. We were greeted by their friendly staff and I particularly appreciated the no fuss check-in (and check-out) process. The three-bedroom, six-person Oceanview Villa we stayed in was huge! (We also rented another 2-pax room as the resort was very strict with the number of guests.) They didn't scrimp on amenities, though, with television sets in all rooms -including the main living area; A/Cs and fans; a strong wifi connection; hot and cold showers in three full toilets and bathrooms (NOTE: clogging problems in all three shower rooms); a billiards table, a functional kitchen with fridge; and a small office area to boot. Have I mentioned the view? Yeah!! Kids and adults alike enjoyed the outdoor infinity pool. There's also a recreational room near the main lobby. (I hope they'd consider placing a chess board there.) Fronting our villa was a wide area to play croquet and hopscotch. Breakfast was served at the spacious, second-floor dining room wherein you had a choice to eat at the verandah with the grand view of the sea. Kudos to the pleasant, attentive and generous (heaps of extra rice!) kitchen staff for the sumptuous meals. Another fun part was the 10-minute trek along lush foliage to the beach. We then went snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming and a short boatride to the Underwater Cave. We had lunch, prepared by the group of easy-going boatmen, by the sea. Our two elderly parents went back to the hotel riding motorcycles. The hotel pool was a relaxing place to warm down our day-long activities. We had dinner at the poblacion and also bought food at the town market to be cooked back in our villa. Our family had a relaxing 3D/2N vacation in Puerto Galera far from the madding crowd, just as we wanted. Tranquility, indeed!

"KEEP COMING BACK"

10.0

I keep coming back to MANOR every year, and the Manor does not disappoint. Great staff, secure with fantastic views but good walk distance or tricycle distance to most of the major Puerto Galera beaches.
