"nice place, quiet"

the resort is located not far from puerto galera proper town. with a short trike ride you can get satang and white beach with few kilometres. secluded, peaceful, high standard. rooms are great, american style. there a nice swimming pool but there is not restaurant, so be prepared to eat somewhere around. recommended, especially for families with children

"Unfortunately not impressed"

6.0

I'm a pretty easy going person. I like a nice hotel. the view is spectacualar, the facility is beautiful. but there is no restaurant on site and it's quite a hike to the nearest anything.. No phone in room, so you can't call for room service, no coffee maker, recommended restaurant exclusive to the hotel with a great looking menu and they deliver, however, nothing was available for beef dishes, nor any of the desserts listed. Dont think I would ever go back.

"A really nice place to get away from it all"

8.0

Nice rooms and friendly staff. We had the place to ourselves, so very lucky. The view from the hotel is great, but as other reviewers have mentioned it is not beach front. You should book at White beach if that is your thing. A lovely cooked breakfast on the balcony is hard to beat! We paid too much from the wharf to the hotel (150 peso) so haggle for something closer to P50. Dining options are a bit limited but poke around the wharf are and there a 3 or 4 good ones there. Or try they Yacht Club - they do a reasonable bar meal and are only a 3 minute walk away. Make sure you use the FREE water taxi that runs from the wharf to the Yacht Club. A nice and easy way to get home in the evening.

The staff are nice and approachable .But the place is good they have a great view and you are able to see the beach , But the pool and our room are not that clean my brother want to swim in the pool for kids but he can't because it was too dirty .plus the room .me and my sister saw cockroaches in our bed. And they dont have wifi in room .so i have to go to Lobby just to connect, How ever the Breakfast was good. but we waited for almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive , the hotel was quite far from white beach. So we have to rent a trycicle to reach in that place and it was pretty expensive.

"Almost Paradise but.. "

8.0

We stayed for 2 nights here and our over-all experience was very good. The hotel almost have everything you need: Very nice room, beautiful instagram worthy view, excellent infinity pool, nice free breakfast, spacious space where you can spend your time resting or reading books, and excellent staffs to assist you in your needs (Special mention to Ate Sally!). The hotel policies are very cool where you are allowed to bring foods and use their utensils for free. You may even request to reheat your food in their microwave. They may also lend extra shuttle service at you but on limited places only. E.g. hotel to port muelle. And the place is very private and not crowded. You have the elegant hotel ambiance with the somehow homey feeling. The only con is its location, as it is not a beachfront hotel. You have to walk through a rough road for about 5-10mins. Moreover, the beach is not that suitable for swimming. BUT on the positive side, there are hired boat services there going through various island hopping and snorkeling activities at a cheaper price. :) Tip: From Muelle Port, it is just a 5min tricycle ride for P50 (good for 2) Dont be fooled by tricycle drivers offering you P150/ ride. You can even ride the trike for only P10 and just walk going up the cemented road leading to the hotel. Also, there's a yummy italian restaurant near the port. :) You may also want to try Kuya Val, he's a trike driver. We met him accidentally in front of the hotel and he offers various activities at cheaper price :) His number is 09262094428 (Tell him he was recommended by the 2 girls who availed snorkeling, tamaraw falls and mangrove). Over-all, I will recommend the place for those who want tranquility and cheaper activities at the same time. :)

""I love this amazing place""

10.0

The Manor at Puerto Galera is located on the top of the hill, a very nice place to stay, romantic and very quite as well although this place is not a beachfront property. the room we had is very comfortable with private balcony have a nice view of bay. The hotel car was there to pick us up when we arrived at the port. The staffs are very friendly and the hotel have own small restaurant and you can request to make food for breakfast or dinner. I forgot to mention have nice swimming pool and nice garden. You can rent scooter to go anywhere in Puerto Galera. Over all we enjoyed and we had very nice stayed in this lovely place.

"So much potential..."

6.0

Overall we had a very nice stay, but the experience was just such a mixed bag. The location itself is gorgeous and the price we paid for the Garden House was very reasonable. Also, it was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in the Philippines. Note, that this is not a beachfront property. You will need to take a trike to another beach or walk down to the private Sand Bar beach (about 10 minutes). If you book the Garden House, it is great for a large group but there is only air conditioning in the bedrooms and the common areas can be very warm. If the front desk staff was more clued into the overall tourist infrastructure in the area and the needs of their guests, it would have been great. A few examples: they couldn't fully explain the boat process for getting there (we asked to clarify which port from Batangas - Batangas Port or Berberabe) and they didn't know and asked us to call back; the hotel was not very clean (dirty table in dining area, cockroaches in bathroom); when we asked for leads on booking an island hopping tour couldn't get us a contact until 5pm (6 hours later) - we just booked on our own; told us the way to the beach down the path but didn't mention that it was a private beach where we were definitely not welcomed initially; would only give a 1 hour late check out and seemed to lie to us saying that they were fully booked the next day (sunday night? really? it was empty after we left); didn't think to suggest that one private boat would suffice for our 12 people to get us to Berberabe port so we ended up needlessly paying for two boats; night front desk staff didn't know what sheets were. The staff were all very friendly but just never seemed able to provide the specific information we needed or a complete picture about anything. Thankfully we were a very self-sufficient group that have all been residing in the Philippines for a while and had a few folks with us that had been to Puerto Galera before. If the front desk staff was more focused on customer service and simply more knowledgable it would have completely changed our experience. It was overall nice, but I would return to other properties I have stayed at in Puerto Galera before returning to The Manor. This was the second stay at The Manor for one member of our group and she was disappointed with this stay. Maybe we just hit it at a bad weekend.

"Overall a great place to stay in Puerto Galera!"

10.0

It was our first time in Puerto Galera and I chartered a sea plane that landed on a lovely white sandy beach.... I didn't pay too much attention to the beach because the hotel car was there to pick us up right away. The resort just above the yacht club on the adjoining property, we walked down for dinner at the club later that evening.. the ribs were especially nice however and older and super friendly crowd of people. Then we visited Sabang 'beach' first and that I really didn't like. It is well known for sex tourists and lady-boys... but each to their own I guess! Then we headed off to Talipanan Big White Beach and drank at The Beach Club that was also nice, and well situated. We also went to White Beach and although it was difficult to get to I could see it trying to be Boracy when it is nothing as nice. After a few days we found ourselves back at the beach the plane landed us on and wow! We realised the best beach is The Sand Bar and it is walking distance from The Manor! Absolutely beautiful! Underpopulated, clean, amazing bay and restful paradise. We basically spent the rest of our holiday between there and the Manor. The manor rooms are really nice and well furnished. The staff are friendly and helpful and the owner Bill is very nice too. The location you cant beat... it is in the middle of everything and adjoining The Sand Bar which must be the best kept secret in PG! If anything here has been any help please let me know with a helpful vote. It is all I get for taking time to help fellow travelers. Thanks!
