Nice b&b , very pleasant hosts , not to far to go to get to everything York has to offer

The staff really made the stay and certainly added an extra star to the rating. The rooms were comfortable, if a little basic (the shower was not overly efficient-took a while to heat up and the head would not stay in position properly)and small but this did create a 'cosy' atmosphere.The breakfast was very nice and good value for money, and served by very pleasant and helpful staff. Parking can be a bit of a problem, not helped by the council and nosy neighbours. My one suggestion would be the addition of code boxes for keys, in order that you can arrive without worrying about the place being manned. Continual questions about what specific time you will arrive can create a stressful situation before you arrive. Overall though, this very pleasant place is a great place to stay in York and represents good value for money.

Crossways Guest House was easy to find, lovely setting, rooms were cozy and well supplied with tea, coffee, cookies and much more. The breakfast was delicious and overall accommodations quite satisfactory.

As expected for a guest house, decent breakfast, good shower. Only criticism is the bed for me was a little small (I am 6' 2")

Location was nice, but we (and another couple) had to wait upon arrival as no one was there to check us in. Breakfast was fine, and the room was clean, though the plumbing was a bit noisy.

Spent 2 nights at Crossways, the room was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly & helpful with information on what to see in York and the best way to get there. Breakfasts were also superb, I would definitely recommend Crossways to anyone.

They housed asset back from them main road and has no on site parking. you need to park in them side streets and get a permit (£5.00 per day ) we stayed in them back room at them top if they housed. it was very small. The shower was abysmal. it had no pressure and was just a trickle. I think the tank must be be below the shower head height as the water only came out the head when it dropped below knee height; very difficult to have a shower crouched down. the place seems to be run by 1 staff member, who was very pleasant. This is not a family run place like most B&B's
