Turbine Hotel and Spa

The Turbine Hotel located on Thesen Island as the perfect place to settle and make your base to explore Knysna from. The hotel has beautiful rooms overlooking the island’s canals. The hotel is very unique and rich with history as it was built inside the shell of a former power station. The Island Café an Gastro Pub will provide you the most scrumptious breakfast, light lunch or dinners. Do try the Bo-Kaap Seafood Curry – it is lovely. The Turbine is centrally located and ideal to explore the rest of the island from with its boutique shops, adventure offerings and restaurants, or you can wander through the rest of Knysna and its beautiful surroundings from here.

Outstanding Location in Knysna….u have to see! very friendly staff and delicious lunch…. Sirloin Steak at the Captains Table…Perfect quality and setting! Cappuccino after also best quality! You have to come here and check out this place! 😉 Attached picture/clip

Really gorgeous hotel - built around an old turbine .. loads of character. Perfect position on thesen island ! Fantastic coffee shop there called isle de pain and The Nest for dinner ! Amazing views and food.. loved this place !

This was our second stay at Turbine, one of our main reasons for the 5 / 6 hour drive from Cape Town. Just to stay here.

Spectacular and interesting property in a great marina area surrounded by restaurants and boutiques. We had a suite with a spectacular view of the lagoon. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot, friendly staff and superb breakfast

The staff were all good, but a special mention to the breakfast staff. They went above and beyond. Also the massage therapist Thembi and Stephanie.

Lovely boutique hotel and friendly staff. They could provide more bigger bottles of water as they were giving very small ones.

This is a wonderful place to stay when in Knysna! Fantastic views, and a very "different" feel to the public spaces in the hotel, with remnants of the old power station equipment abound in the hotel, but is uniquely balanced by some wonderful works of art! Staff were very friendly and helpful, though sometimes breakfast service was a little slow - but always worth waiting for! Also used the hotel spa, which was a fantastic experience, with very friendly and capable staff.
