The old character of the building was beautiful and the view from our room was lovely.

Nice property in a great location with fantastic views, but room was tired and dirty and in need of smartening up.

As we entered the large corner room we were delighted by the space and outstanding view from the windows and french doors onto the deck. The traditional decor of the room lent a calm and quiet feel. After unpacking, we had a glass of wine on the spacious deck along with complimentary birthday chocolates for me - a nice touch. As the sun was going down the view was awe inspiring and the different colours of the cliffs and mountains just magnificent. The room was very clean as was the the bathroom. The bed very comfortable too. Coffee & tea making facilities were fine. All the staff were welcoming and helpful - so much so that the next day at home when we realised we'd left 2 jackets in the wardrobe, we rang the hotel and they were extremely helpful. The jackets were sent to us within the week - and very gratefully received! Breakfast (included) in the upstairs dining/bar area overlooking the beautiful valley was a la carte and really delicious - coffee too! We dined the night before next door at Lilianfels in their Lounge/bar area as the food was more casual but also delicious! A two minute walk! Recommend booking for dinner. We highly recommend the lovely Echos Hotel for a break away - its not cheap but its well worth it for a special occasion. Tip: you need to be able to walk up the lovely stairs from reception to the dining room/bar next floor up as there isn't a lift. Another tip: get the corner room top floor.

Gorgeous boutique hotel in a beautiful secluded location within walking distance to Echo Point. Lovely rooms, great service and excellent dining. Highly recommend

The worst customer service in the world!! We got there on the 20th April just to be told that they have moved our date to the 25 May, which is what we requested however Expedia did not confirm this with us and told us our request were declined! To date Expedia has not sent our confirmation for the date change, and sends out this survey.. what do you expect me to say! I’m disgusted by the service and hope that someone from Expedia calls me to confirm my stay on the 25 May

Wonderful location, garden and view is amazing! Staff are lovely but the hotel overall is in need of a complete revamp. Door in our bathroom jammed and was very difficult to close, furnishings were worn, airconditioning was inconsistent and there was a funny smell in the room. There was also lots of noise from the adjoining rooms. I really wanted to love our stay here, but unfortunately was unwhelmed by the experience.

Great view, but has to go out the room to the garden though.
