La Terraza de San Juan

The location was great!

I usually don’t leave reviews for anything online but this one really compelled me to, if this helps anyone. The check-in process was weird. I have traveled a lot and they always ask you to tap or insert your card for a hold. In this case, the lady took my card and noted down all details and cvv. I have not seen any unknown charges but this is incredibly unprofessional and risky. I was initially given a room which had no windows, and barely any light. It was also right in front of the ice machine for the staff to use so you it was loud. There was no desk or anything. Nothing as advertised. Upon complaining, I was told I’d be moved to another room if I paid for it. After complaining a few times, they did upgrade me to the bigger room. I will give them that. I stayed in old San Juan for 8 days. Having walked around and see other places, tbh this is place is way too expensive for what it offers. There are better, cleaner places with nicer staff in the area.

Nice interior design, friendly staff, quiet, very nice neihbourhood to walk frim easily.

Water getting cold too quick in the bathroom, remote for airco not available, you had to ask the staff.

Traffic

The location was so perfect for me. Less than 5 min walk to everything i had on my list. I definitely recommend Dos Lobos and Deaverdura to everyone reading this. I loved the vintage yet renovated vibe of the hotel. The room i stayed in was spacious and well decorated. I just didn’t like that i couldn’t control the A/C. And the water wasn’t hot enough. Aside from that. Everything was nice

The ambience of old San Juan in the hotel was wonderful! The cleanliness of the room was wonderful. Having a bar to go hang out at in the evening on the bottom floor was perfect so I didn’t have to walk up and downhill of the streets to come back to my hotel after having a few drinks.

It took almost 20 minutes to find someone when checking in, in order to actually check me in. The coffee bar area takes a little bit of time to actually get a coffee. While I appreciate that, it’s fresh brewed right there, when you have three or four people all trying to get a coffee it can take 30 or 40 minutes. The pool is very small so if three or four people are in there you don’t really have any space but to just stand in the pool. The elevator take a very, very long time to go up and down three flight. I was able to walk up three flights of stairs to my room get what I need out of the room and come back downstairs before the elevator was even available. Mind you there was nobody else using the elevator, that’s just how long that elevator takes. When you are actually in the elevator coming down, expect to be in there for at least 2 and a half minutes to three minutes before you get from the third floor to the bottom floor.

Location was wonderful!!!!

The terrace and restaurants weren’t open so it didn’t live up to the website or pics. It was way smaller than the pics made it look too. And we couldn’t control the temperature in our room. Had to ask the front desk to. But otherwise it was good, just very expensive for what you get.

Beautiful hotel and great location.

We had the suite with the pullout bed which had a thin mattress and was uncomfortable for my son. Would have been better off not pulling it out and just sleeping on the couch. We were also not advised about the pool under work and therefore not available to guests. They should have offered a discount or free breakfast but didn’t.
