White Knight Hotel Intramuros

It is in a prime tourist location but the room we were given was filthy. The AC had broken fins on the deflector which meant you could put your hand inside, the bed sagged in the middle, the windows had shutters over them sealed with Sellotape. There was no drinking water in the room and the fridge had been unplugged. No soap, no toilet paper in bathroom. Not what one would expect.

The location is superb, like literally 20 meters away from the famous San Augustine Church. It’s right in the middle of Intramuros. The staff are all very welcoming and eager to help. Even though there are something not prepared in the room. When you ask them they will take care of it and send it to your doorstep. Wifi is quick, air con works fine.

Those 1-star reviews are just ridiculous, maybe done by their rivals? Does this age-old pandemic-surviving hotel need some improvement in their worn-out facilities? Yes definitely. But does it deserve just 1 star? Definitely not. But the room and bathroom definitely need some refurbishment.

Pros: -it’s an affordable place to stay in intramuros - the outside of the building is beautiful -the courtyard is lovely and connects to other courtyards in Casa Manila etc -the shower is in the same room as the toilet but doesn’t leak on it - mattresses in the executive twin room were comfortable -fridge and kettle in room -air conditioning worked well

Cons: -dirty - had to ask for towels and toilet paper, and then was given one roll of toilet paper for two rooms - was there for three days and someone else’s dishes were outside our room the whole time. - lots of rubbish and dog poo outside

I stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and it was average. This time it was much worse than average. Probably last time it was fixed was 10 years ago as well. The staff has a lazy attitude (you would easily find them lying down on the sofa in the lobby and the counter of the reception was full of candy wrappers). Definitely poor service. Messy lobby area and shabby rooms with cockroaches. On top of this, there was a super noisy karaoke in the street just in front of the rooms until 4.30AM. A serious hotel would have called the guards to stop the noise or would have refunded me. I'm not talking about some few people singing and drinking, I'm talking about a super party. It was impossible for me to sleep as well as for guests in other rooms.

Excellent location. Great value for money. Great service. Very helpful staff.

A bit noisy in street facing rooms on lower floor

Bad communications on breakfast. They said it was included in the rate but said the next day that it wasn't.

Spacious rooms

Air conditioning units are defective and dirty. We had to clean filters ourselves.

We booked months ahead and was comfirmed but when we arrived we were informed the hotel is fully booked. We were transferred to Gil Puyat instead.

This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in for p4000 Air con did not work . TV did not work. Refrigerator did not work. No kettle or water even though meant to be provided. Staff did not work. It was dirty . Bitten by mosquitos. I asked for things to be fixed. They weren't. We were moved to another room . TV not working . Refrigerator so noisy couldn't sleep.no kettle. Dangerous loose tiles on floor

This is a solid choice at this price point, with clean, comfortable beds and an excellent location.
