Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon

Lovely hotel. Well looked after. Lovely staff. Plenty choice in the buffet. Ideal if you struggle with Sri lanken spices. Very quiet on a night. Not much happening. Maybe busier season might be more entertainment on the street. Nice bar at hotel though

Stay here and Maduschanka will please you with his creative towel art and warm attitude 😍 Hotel staff is really kind but beware of the russian and chinese tourists on their rude way to the buffet.

Hotel was lovely, though quiet in the evenings, food very nice with a good variety and staff could do enough for us. Grounds were lovely, clean & well kept as was the beach. Where we met Mohan who organised fantastic trips for us including safari to Yala, elephant orphanage, tsunami museum, boat trip, moonstone mine. Only downside was my daughter had to change room twice due to ants. These rooms were next door to each other and at the opposite end of the corridor from our room. When she moved a few doors from us on our floor she (like ourselves) didn’t have any other issues.

From the first moment, it was wonderful. Javisanka was fantastic. All the food was excellent. The location sorrounded by the beach was amazing

We spent 3 days at the Hikka Tranz hotel. We received wonderful hospitality. The kids were kept happy with really great Kids activities. Thanks Dilan, Pradeep and Madusani for keeping the kids entertained with very creative craft activities.

Cockroaches in a 4-Star Hotel Suite Room – Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon We booked Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon to celebrate my birthday and our baby’s first trip, but it turned out to be the most disappointing and unacceptable hotel experience we’ve ever faced. First, they gave us the wrong bed with birthday decorations, then moved us to a far corner room with no proper view or décor. We accepted it quietly, hoping to still enjoy the day, though the food and service were only average. The beach was nice, but it’s a public beach – nothing exclusive. We decided to stay one more night for convenience. After an apology with a cake, management offered us what they called a “suite” at the superior room price. But the so-called suite was shocking – cockroaches, geckos, and other insects were in the room, and even a dead cockroach in the washroom. For a Cinnamon property that claims to be 4-star, this is unacceptable and feels like fraud to guests who trust the brand. This is not just a bad stay – it’s a health and safety issue. Exposing families with babies to unhygienic and poorly maintained rooms can’t be excused as a simple mistake. I am seriously considering taking this matter up with consumer protection authorities and tourism regulators in Sri Lanka because such practices damage not only the Cinnamon brand but also the country’s reputation as a travel destination. I strongly advise anyone planning a special occasion or family trip: do not risk it with Hikka Tranz.

I have stayed at several Cinnamon properties and expected high standards, but my recent stay at Hikka Tranz was extremely disappointing. The wrong bed (king bed booked) type was provided, and the baby cot had no mattress — my baby had to sleep on a hard surface. Even worse, the upgraded suite had cockroaches, geckos, and ants, which is completely unacceptable. There was no quick action to resolve these problems, unlike other hotels I’ve visited, and as a result, our family vacation was wasted — all that remains is disappointment. My trust in the Cinnamon brand has been lost. Anyone planning to visit Cinnamon should think twice before booking here.

One of the lifts were broken during our stay, aircon in our room didn’t work properly. Fridge was broken didn’t cool.

We were staying at the hotel for 2 weeks and enjoyed every single minute of it. The hotel has a very nice position on the beach - there are like two beaches left or right and the left side is like a small reef with baby sharks and small fish, and on the right side every day are coming sea turtles swimming with the people. Every room has a big terrace with an amazing ocean view, which we loved!!! Nice pool with garden filled with exotic animals-lizards, chipmunks and a lot of birds. Good food at the main restaurant and the 2 a la carte restaurants. Very friendly staff everywhere you go, clean an nice. It is really a place to relax and enjoy the warm, but not hot weather with a light breeze from the ocean-simply fantastic! Recommend it for people who wants just to relax and to feel the Indian ocean!

We had a fully satisfying stay — thank you for the delicious birthday cake! So far, we’ve been very pleased with the quality and variety of food at Cinnamon chain hotels. We truly enjoyed the beach and could have stayed for hours. My little girl was thrilled to add so many beautiful shells to her collection
