Westhill Country Hotel

With was a return trip to WestHill and it exceeds expectations!! John, Max & staff were exceptional. The Service, food & cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding. The entertainment was great, with Annette getting every one up dancing. Counting down the days until we return !!

Lovely pools, grounds and aviary. Comfy beds , tiny bathrooms, nice people, good value hotel.

Excellent with good food, wonderful gardens and 2 swimming pools. Staff very friendly. A courtesy bus goes several times each morning to take guests to the main bus station in St Helier.

What a beautiful place, the grounds and gardens are stunning. The staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the choice is extremely good, even found choices for the pescatarian sister. The use of the shuttle bus is extremely handy for the bus station. Special mention to Jon the owner, Nello (maitre d’), Carlos, George and Miguel. Not forgetting Austin on reception, who helped to give our first impression a boost. We will never forget you. Hope to come back some day

This was our first trip to Jersey, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay than Westhill Country Hotel. We stayed for two nights in a superior double overlooking the gardens and pool — a peaceful, scenic view that really set the tone for a chilled-out break. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We had bar food one of the evenings — a burger and a steak baguette — and both were delicious and great quality. Ideal after a day of exploring! Marek at the bar was lovely and helpful. One of the unexpected highlights was Archie, the resident retriever, who completely stole our hearts. He’s a total character — friendly, charming, and clearly knows he’s the real boss around here. The pool and beautifully kept gardens make a stunning backdrop for a quiet drink — whether it’s during the day or winding down in the evening. If I’m being critical, the room would be elevated further by the inclusion of a small fridge and fan. Guests should take advantage of the courtesy minibus which takes you to the main town (St Helier) bus station. Collect a ticket, one for each person, at reception at breakfast. It leaves at 10, 10.20 and possibly a 3rd time if demand is high. There is an option for an all-day ticket to hop on and off routes across the island and the number 19 brings you back to very near the hotel. A special mention has to go to Jon Smale, the owner. He’s a genuinely lovely chap, warm and chatty, and clearly takes pride in making his guests feel welcome. He even treated us to a drink — and we’re pretty sure he has a soft spot for us Scots! All in all, a brilliant stay in a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be back.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a great pool area. Rooms were reasonably comfortable and were clean but dated. On arrival we were told we had been ‘upgraded’ to a garden view. Room at the very top of the hotel and south facing so as it was a very hot weekend staying in the room during the day was intolerable. After asking we were given a fan which helped at night . Suspect that someone else had rejected the room hence us being moved. Arrived back at the hotel Sunday afternoon hoping to relax by the pool and swim to find it had been invaded by members of the public and many children causing chaos and a lot of noise in the pool area so impossible to get in without being jumped on. Not sure of regulations but too many people for the size of pool and dangerous with no supervision. We felt part of the pool could have been sectioned off for guest use at least. Disappointing as felt we had paid for this facility but then not able to use it. Most of the staff were lovely but a few a bit off. Breakfast good but slightly chaotic during busier times. Not sure that I would stay again, definitely not at weekends

From the time we arrived to the time we left, we couldn’t fault anything about this hotel. The staff were very helpful warm and friendly. The swimming pool area was excellent. As we took our car with us, the fact that the hotel was in the centre made it easy for us to get round the island and view all the places we wanted to see If you didn’t have a car, there was a courtesy bus into Saint Helier the the number 19 bus was very convenient and the price of taxes on this small island was very acceptable

Would like to thank all the positive feedback saying that I look so sunburned and loads of people thought I had gone to Barbados , or Spain . No I went back to my family friends hotel in Visit Jersey and Westhill Country Hotel . Please can I ask everyone that is on here to please visit . It’s such a beautiful and amazing hotel , more better then a 3star. John Smale, Max Smale run this family hotel and they are running it for the foreseeable future. Please help them and help me support this amazing hotel

What an absolute beautiful hotel ! So underrated as a 3star hotel in our eyes was defo a 5star! The staff were absolutely amazing cannot fault not one person there! Jon and his son max were the nicest people we have ever met. Annette made an old man very happy with thinking he looked like a ‘rockstar’ ! Me and my husband will be 100% going back to this hotel with our children! Rooms, food, bar, pool, garden ect absolutely spectacular! Oh and cant forget Archie the dog ! Thank you all for a lovely welcoming stay!
