The grounds and property were beautiful. Really enjoyed the beach front. very relaxing

I understand that this is a historic building but a bit surprised by the tiny bathroom. Also no television in our room. Use it to help sleep

We both thought the pillows were somewhat lumpy.

This historic Inn is beautiful and really cozy and charming with excellent service. The restaurant has good options, they offer a free tea service in the afternoon and free coffee in the mornings. Free parking the rooms are very well appointed uncomfortable with nice linens and towels. Beautiful views from every room of the surrounding mountains and river. Definitely a bargain! For the quality & the service levels.

We stayed here because of its close proximity to Humboldt State Park, which is a must if you want to see and experience redwoods! I gave Benbow a 4 because they are lacking administratively. After the first night our room was not serviced because we changed rooms and weren’t on the service schedule?? ODD! The next day we asked specifically for our room to be serviced and they only emptied the trash & added a few towels. Not what I expect but they did offer to fix the problem. The restaurant & bar are excellent and we would certainly stay there again.

The grounds are beautiful and it was easy to get to. It's right off the highway but the building and surroundings are pretty. Check in was easy. Check out was easy. The rooms were clean.

The rooms very much need an update. The bathroom felt very out of date and dark. The mattresses also feel quite old and springy. It was less charming and more outdated than it looks in photos. The restaurant on site was passable food wise although the service was a bit weird. I didn't notice a host upon entering so I just went to sit down after looking at the stream. No one greeted me or brought me any menu/water until I got up and asked for it. Then they asked if I'd spoken to the host. You think that they'd see a hotel guest at a table and just assume they wanted to eat. Instead I was ignored for almost thirty minutes until I got up to request service.
