This property is a Great Location by The College,,, The Staff was very helpful... Every time I go to Ottumwa Iowa,,, I will stay at this Hotel...

The site said pet friendly and when we checked in there was no mention of a pet fee. We passed by with our 9 pound dog and the manager said nothing. The room ac made a racket the whole night, the shower drain backed up, the tv service said it was unavailable. Make sure you ask for a receipt before you leave. I checked my credit card when we got home and found a charge for $25 and another for $50. I called and the mgr. said she saw us walk through w our baggage and the dog and she said she wasn’t going to chase us down to the elevator. It was 10’ away, all she had to do was speak up and no one else was in the lobby so…. The end of this story is just beware that at $75 almost 50 percent of the room cost this is how they earn the money. I think that’s criminal to post pet friendly then charge like that. I know there are just as many or more stories of terrible abuse by owners also but…..

parking area could be improved, as removing the grassy area outside of main door as it would provide more parking area and reduce the chance of a fall on that steep bank.
